Ive never had a brand new oven. everywhere ive lived, even the house i own now had a used oven. I just bought a new one and my food tasted weird, kinda like the charcoal taste from a grill. Is this normal.

Read your owners manual, sometimes you have to use your oven to remove any residue prior to placing food into it for backing. But as for stovetop that should not matter. This only pertains to the oven. Good Luck....

Yes, i sold appliances for a couple of years and heard this all of the time. It is like when you turn on the heat for the first time in the winter- you smell the furnace b/c it hasnt been used in a while. The same applies here- these metal parts are heating for the first time- give it a week or so and it will dissapear.

It's normal. It's like the first time you plug in a curling iron and it stinks. You could use EZ-Off, or if you have cast iron, re-season those to let the oils in the oven burn off before cooking more food.

absolutely! different ovens heat food with different ways that is the main reason! and maybe with this oven you must heat your food for more or less hour than the usual.
