The healthiest cereal would be whole grain, with as little processing is possible. Oatmeal is very good for you. Most hot cereals are better than the overprocessed stuff you buy in boxes.
I used to buy whole grains for making bread. Wheat berries, oatmeal, rye berries, millet, flax seed, etc.etc. I found that I could throw a handful of mixed grains in a coffee grinder and just break it up a little, then pour boiling water over it and put in the microwave for like 2 min., it made a very good hot cereal. Also things like 'bulgar' wheat or cracked wheat worked well for this. It's not much more trouble than cold cereal, but it fills you up and stays with you until lunch better than cold.
If you like that kind of thing. Otherwise look for 'whole grain' in the ingredients, and as little processing as possible (like shredded wheat, for instance.)

basic 4 is one of my favorites. try raisin bran crunch too. if you want to lose weight corn flakes.
