Is there anyone out there that can remember back to the days when your mom or grandma had a can of grease on the back of the stove? I can remember my grandma had such a can on the back of the wood burining stove that she used when she needed some oli to cook with. I just do not know what she was using, I am gussing some bacon grease, but what else was in there?

Why do you have to thaw meat before cooking? If its cooked from frozen thoroughly isnt that the same effect as defrosting it first? I recently got very bad food poisoning from cooking frozen bacon!

I have been baking a fruit cake for my dad's birthday. I always cook fruit cakes very slowly over several hours. I am using an electric oven for the first time and it has taken over 10 hours. Now to my horror, all of the butter is seeping out of the cake mixture! I rarely cook with butter, but this is a special occasion. Help please!

I know I am doing about the same thing. I use flour, salt, pepper and buttermilk. I fry mine in lard. But grandma had a can on the back of the stove that she would get the grease out of. I think it was a mixture of bacon grease, lard and other fat from frying. Anyone out there that may be older than I am who can tell me what was in there. This all goes back to the days before everyone was afraid of not refrigarating everything. I am talking about back to the days of wood burning stoves and no refrigrator.

Kraft American Cheese tastes different so does Miracle Whip, Velveeta, Light Done Right dressings, ect...

For a FACT I know Miracle Whip was changed because of an email I have with the company. Velveeta because I have the ingrediant list from the "before" and "after" product.

Have you TASTED the DIFFERENCE that they made also?

I need to know some breakfasts that are really easy to make. Like really basic and easy. No, I don't mean like cereal... something that you actually make that doesn't take very long. Something that tastes good.

If you could give me a recipe or instructions, that would be great.

I am looking for new ideas. I would like to offer a different variety of foods at our high school football concession stand this year. Please tell me, whats your favorite thing that they sell at ball games?

Of course we already have the obvious things like hotdogs, hamburgers, fries, chicken fingers, popcorn, etc.
