If you are buying pre made crust then you need a good pizza pan. That would be it besides getting what toppings you like to put on it and finding a good sauce to use. Don't forget the cheese whether you like it or not cheese holds the toppings on.

There are not too many things needed to make an excellent home pie. The NEEDED hardware is only a pizza stone and peel or pizza pan. I have both, and I use the pan more often - I don't have a peel (the wooden paddle used to slide the pizza in and out of the oven)
If you want to make a home-made crust, I recommend having a stand mixer. They're ~$250, so I wouldn't get one unless you're totally committed to home-made baked goods. You can also knead the dough by hand - that's how I started, but now use the mixer exclusively.
That's it! Some would say that you would want a rolling pin to roll-out the dough. That's not needed - practice hand tossing the dough. You'll spread it nice and thin and impress your guests with your ability to toss the dough over your head.
Ingredients for pizza:
Crust:
Bread flour
Yeast
Warm Water (105 - 110 degrees)
Sugar
Salt
Sauce:
Tomato sauce
Tomato paste
Oregano
Basil
Minced garlic
Sugar
Black pepper
Toppings:
Mozzarella cheese
Pepperoni
Black olives
Green olives
Red bell pepper (diced)

Well I made Focaccia last night. It is similar to pizza. This is much lower calorie than pizza.
I bought a can of Pillsbury Italian or french bread from the cooler case. Spread it on a cookie sheet (you do not need a special pizza pan). Let it warm to room temp. on the cookie sheet and it will spread better.
You can put on it what ever you like. We like veggie pizzas because the pizza meats like pepperoni are so fatty.
I always thin slice tomatoes, red onion, green bell pepper, a small can of sliced black olives and what ever else you would like. Spread them all over it dough to your satisfaction.
In a cereal bowl I mix up olive oil, crushed garlic, salt (I love kosher, it is crunchy) grind in some pepper,. Mix it and drizzle it over all of the veggies . We use Parmesan only.
It is a hard cheese and better for you. Sprinkle on as much a you like.
Bake at 375 to 400 till brown and crispy. Yum.
