Pros, I want your answers. As we all have been told, and read, you have to let your stock go for hours, even overnight if possible. Let it develop those gelatinous qualities that it does, and all those fine flavors. But, as of late, I've also been hearing that letting them go so long can ruin the finer flavors of a stock. the more subtle flavors, and leave you with a more bitter, harsher tasting stock. So, tell me, what do you all think?

There was a report this morning about salmonella found in ConAgra brand peanut butter, which is Peter Pan & Great Value peanut butter sold at Wal-Mart. The supposedly infected peanut butter starts with the serial number of 2111. I had two jars in my cupboard that I bought a couple of months ago. Is there anything safe to eat anymore?

I've two credible sources (both in the restaurant industry) telling me two different things. One says that Cod is an actual type of fish from the Pacific and Atlantic; the other says Cod isn't really a specific fish -- that the term Cod is an acronym for "Catch Of the Day". What gives? Who is right?

It's on CNN that if you have a container starting with 2111 with generic (walmart?) brand or Peter Pan peanut butter, it may contain SALMONELLA so you should toss it. IF you want your money back, the store may give it to you or you can send the LID to conagra foods. Check their site.

I have just been diagnosed with I.B.S and i have been given antispasmodics which work well on the pian, but there are still certain foods that trigger pain. I have had to cut out dairy products, white pasta and rice, bread and potatoes

I'm coping ok without the bread and potatoes, but milk and cheese i'm missing

Is there anything i can use as replacements that dont taste bad, or taste the same. Soya Milk just isnt right.

Also anything elce i can use as replacements to the bread etc too would be good, i use brown rice and pasta which works ok

THEY will be buying everything; having it at THEIR house; and have already sent out invitations. The guest list was a total of 80 people. They wanted me to help come up with ideas; contact/correspond w/ caterer; help set up/break down decoration; and monitor the progress of the party on the big day so they can enjoy it.

Have you ever pretended you cooked all day for the wonderful dinner on the table, when, in reality, it was all take-out or frozen... and just served on your nice dishes?

I confess ... I have - in peices - not a whole meal (yet). Sometimes I'll add a salad or the desert. There are wonderful things in deli's, bakeries, and the frozen-section of the supermarket which make cooking and entertaining MUCH simpler. All you need are nice dishes, fancy napkins, and a good bottle of wine!
