What are some of the foods you eat all the time that are somewhat exclusive to where you live? And what do most people where you live put in their coffee or on their french fries etc...

Where I live we have Chourico (pronounced shuh rees) and Linguica they are both a kind of portugese sausage
We also have coffee milk (like chocolate milk but coffee flavored)
I like salt and malt vinegar on my fries and milk (not cream) and sugar in my coffee.

Does anyone know how to make the anchovy flavoured vinager, or is it preservative, that you find olives sold in on the street markets in Spain, also what kind of vinager do they use to make the pickled onions that are pink in colour.
Any help would be appreciated.

Please help me, vegans!
I am not a vegetarian or vegan but I have a friend who was veggie and her New Year's resolution was to go vegan. I want to support her.
A few of us are going over to her house to scrapbook and in the past we've normally done potluck for snacks. Her being veggie was not a problem, it was easy to make stuff. But now that she's vegan I know that I can't use any ingredients that came from anything that used to have a face.
I wanted to bring over something other than plain fruit or veggies. I'm not opposed to a hard recipe, and I live in a city so I can go get ingredients easily. Please give me some cool ideas or recipes for snacks (ideally something that does not need utensils to eat). Ethnic foods like samosas would work, we all like to try new stuff.
Also, what is a good resource for seeing if prepared foods (e.g., Fritos) are vegan?
Thank you so much!!

I just bought some starbucks coffee to make at home. I bought the small 2.5 oz packets to get an idea of what flavor I like. The back of the pack says to use the whole pack but it seems like a lot. Could anyone give me an idea of how many TBSP they use when brewing a 12 cup pot full.

So i'm debating what KitchenAid to get, I think Costco sells a 5 (maybe 6) qt professional model for like $200. I don't mind buying the $300 model, but I probably wouldn't want to go anymore than that. I enjoy cooking a lot and have taken culinary classes, but honestly haven't spent much time baking. I usually only cook for about 2 people..sometimes 4..rarely 6+. Any recommendations what I should get? things I might experiment with: breads, pizza, sausage (I hear some have meat grinders or sausage maker attatchments), fresh pasta noodles. i can't think of anything else i'd use it for..my girlfriend might use it for cakes but again smaller batches..any recommendations on model type and size (I know other attachments can be added later, but they get expensive if its not already included)? Thanks a bunch
~Gavin
