Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, so here are a few ideas.

I love mixing fresh fruit with vanilla yogurt. Strawberries and black berries are my favorite (Not mixed together though). You can try layering them in a fancy glass to make eating breakfast more enjoyable.

Egg and cheese sandwiches are great! Fry egg in butter not oil. Butter gives a much better taste. They are even better if you leave the egg a little runny. Place two slices of buttered toast open on the plate. Then put cheese on one half. Place steaming hot egg on top of cheese to melt, and you have an amazing breakfast. It's easy to eat on the go too.

Monkey bread is delicious! Buy pre-made bread dough and let it defrost and rise. Then mix melted butter, brown sugar, NON-instant vanilla pudding mix, and pour over top. Bake, turn pan upside down on serving dish, and enjoy!

I don't have any special recipes for pancakes, put one suggestion is to make them a little thick and slightly undercooked. They're really soft and almost melt in your mouth that way.

Silly girl! Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!! But here are a few tasty treats that might inspire you to get your morning grub on:

Blueberry Pancakes-Well I'm all about time-saving recipes for breakfast so...my suggestion is to buy prepackaged pancake mix
Bisquick is really versatile! Mix the pancake batter according to package directions (usually requires a little milk and one or two eggs) then AFTER mixing well gently fold in fresh blueberries.
Pancake making is all about the griddle-temperature is everything! Make sure that you heat up the griddle before you plop down your first pancake. Once it's warm gently pour (or spoon) batter onto the griddle, DON"T turn the pancake until you see small bubble forming ALL OVER the pancake, once it's all bubbly, it should be easy to flip right over! Enjoy!

Other recipes for breakfast-

French toast-(you can use lots of different types of bread-I usually have regular white bread on hand)
Make a mixture:
Eggs (usually 1 egg makes 2 slices)
1/2-3/4 milk (depending on how many slices)
1 Tbs vanilla extract
Whisk thoroughly (I usually add a sprinkling of cinammon and nutmeg-but that's optional)
Then toast on a warm griddle and serve with powdered sugar or syrup toppings!

Omlettes are also delish in the AM-and you can create new ones all the time using leftovers! They are very filling too!
Start with 1 or 2 eggs
Add chopped onion, green pepper, or other veggies chopped
About 1/2 cup of milk
Meat-you can use almost anything-I love ham that has been cooked, chop it up and toss it in! or you can use sausage or even chicken (for southwest flare!)
Don't forget the cheese!! Again-so many options! I love sharp cheddar grated into mine, but some others to try are mozzerella, swiss, american, mild cheddar, etc

Mix it and pour into pre-heated skillet (that has been sprayed with cooking spray) let it cook about 2 1/2-3 minutes on medium heat before folding. Right before folding the omlette in half, you can add more cheese to the center which will melt and makes it even better!!

Happy Eating!

You can take any pancake mix and just add fresh (or canned and drained or frozen) blueberries to the mix. Very simple. When my kids were small, I would take my day off and make pancakes and waffles and freeze them. Then all you have to do is just pop them in the microwave or toaster when you want them. Also, change up your menu. Who says you need to have breakfast food at breakfast? One of my favorite things to have for breakfast is pizza! It contains every food group. I've also had egg salad sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches and things like that for breakfast, too. Just find something you like and stick with it.

I'm not a huge breakfast person either. I just don't like most breakfast food, or don't have time for them. I've found that grabbing some nuts and maybe an apple or other fruit is quick and yummy. Or a bagel and fruit. Some thing light, quick and easy works for me.

I just watched a show a few days ago, on people who don't like breakfast, but the effects of eating breakfast are over whelming, you metabolise faster, have more energy, etc. Anyways, this families solution was to have dinner for breakfast. They had pot roast, lamb chops, etc. Essentially taking the normal Big Dinners and turning them into big breakfasts, it also helped them throughout the day because they had more energy and during dinner time, they ate less and lighter.

You really don't have to eat breakfast foods for breakfast. You can eat anything you have available. I used to always eat leftovers for breakfast. The whole purpose for eating breakfast is to start your metabolism. If you want you could also get some quick breakfast foods in your grocers freezer section. They have breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, waffles, toaster pastries, bacon, sausage, etc.....

If you want something easy and delicious, get frozen waffles, heat them in the toaster, sprinkle them with powdered sugar, and top with your choice of fresh fruit. I especially like blueberries, peaches, or strawberries.
