A good friend of mine has a sister that is going to pass away any day and I would like to have some ideas ready for food that I can take over. I am not sure how much food others will bring but I would like to have things that can freeze well and also things that are quick. As I have four kids of my own, I can't do anything too expensive but I want to do all I can in the food line up to help her out. Any ideas?

ok heres the deal i eat right and excercise daily but i came across this vegitarian cookbook and at the beginning it has all this info about chemicals in food and meat is bad for you and eggs are bad and don't eat dairy i am confused i thought well maybe this would be the way to go but no one else in my family would ever do this so it is practically impossible for me to do it because i can't by two sets of groceries every week and i don't know that i believe every single peice of meat is bad or every dairy product...someone please give me some insight on this issue

I'm about to begin giving cooking lessons. I have 3 culinary school students who will be working for me, and we'll be tutoring small groups of people in cooking techniques.

I'm looking for recipes that aren't too complicated, and don't require very expensive (or hard-to-find) ingredients. Also, the recipes can't have very long preparation or cooking times (such as a crock pot recipe), because we're getting paid by the hour.

I've done Web searches, and I've found some good stuff. But I'd really like some localized and/or "family" recipes.

What meat do I use; and how to find meat at the supermarket?
Is there a marinating sauce to use? If so, how long to marinate?
What cooking utensils do I need?
How do I cook (oven / broil / fry)? (BTW, Fire dept has forbidden me from using grill - so please don‘t ask me to grill)
What condiments go best with Prime Rib?

It looks just like feta cheese, but it's not. Does anyone know what it's called? It's typically sprinkled very lightly on top of whole black or pinto beans, or on enchiladas or tacos.

I want to put apples in my son's lunch as a healthy snack for school, but he won't eat them if they are already turning brown. AND he won't just eat an apple whole, I have to cut it up for him. Is there something I can do or put on them to keep them from doing that so quickly??

I love bagels and would really love to try proper ones from New York. As I can't afford to go there, does anyone know of a website i could use to order some to be shipped to the UK? Or in fact any good bagel sites anywhere for the best bagels!

I made brownies for the first time the other night, and they didn't come out as I had hoped. They were still edible and tasted good, but it was hard to get them off the pan, and when I used a spatula, they just crumbled. Also, how do you make them bigger than how mine came out? Mine came out pretty thin, I was expecting store bought size. (wishful thinking I guess) Thanks!

If I want sandwiches for lunch, whens the best time to take some frozen bread out of the freezer - the night before or in the morning? Should I put it into the fridge to defrost, or just leave it out? Also, will it be as fresh as on the day I froze it?
