Here in America, butter is sold in one pound block packages (or sometimes tubs) consisting of 4 sticks, so each stick is 1/4 lb. There are 16 oz in a pound, so simple math gives you your answer. One stick of butter is 4 ounces. If you look on the wrapper paper of each stick of butter, it's marked off in ounces for easy cutting. If one ounce = 28+ grams, then 4 ounces = 113.398 grams. Being from Canada and not to discrace a school teacher, in Canada we use the metric system, and 1/4 pound would be a 125 gr, a 1/2 is 250 and 1 pound is 500 or more accuratley 454.3 grams
