I opened a coconut I found outside the other day, I smashed it, so I couldn't drink the water, but I did get to taste a bit and some of the meat. It was awful! I was expecting a fresh, sweet tropical fruit, but instead got a lousy, spoiled milk taste. Blech!! If this is how fresh coconut tastes, then no thank you...

I'm from Canada, but now live in the Philippines. I tryed a Balut, and it was nasty. It sort of tasted like an egg, but the thought of it just grossed me out. For those that wonder what a Balut is, it's a fertalized chicken egg that is boiled just a while before it hatches, so it's like half egg half chick. I had a 12 day and a 18 day old Balut. It was HORRIBLE especially when it has feathers..

I used three web-browsers, who referred me to many on-site sales of Chefmate cookware. "Chefmate" is also a cleaning product. "Chefmate.com" seems to be a cooking reference site. Target Department Stores offer several lines of their cookware in stores and on-line. I just want a new knob for one of my sauce-pan lids.

Thanks!
