I like to cook them, drain the water, add butter to them, and the flavor packets.

if you get indomie instant noodle, you would hardly need to add salt etc to get a better taste as indomie's flavor is already good. i've tried other instant noodles and i always have to add something because there is always some taste missing to my mouth.

eating instant noodle is always good when we have side things to accompany it such as bokchoy, boiled or fried egg, a little hot sauce and sweet soya sauce (kecap), beef balls or sometimes chicken breast cubed.

for other instant noodles beside indomie, when i consume them i have to add a little Hungarian Vegeta seasoning for a better taste.

Use your own spices, add vegies, meat, herbs, use broth instead of water. Or you may even use soup instead of all those things I've just listed. You may also add 1 or 2 egg yolks while it's still hot, hot water will cook egg yolks. Just leave it half-raw, you may eat it or you may everything, so the noodle strings will be covered in egg yolks (tastes good, or maybe it's just vietnamese people).

i don't think there's much you can do with what's in the package.
you'll have to add things to it; extra spices, some veggies, or pieces of meat.
