I'm an American living in New Zealand and they've never really heard of this dish here. I'm experimenting with making buttermilk biscuits here and could use some help in that area too :-)

I am looking for a "south beach diet" type of side dish recipe for my family get together. I just started the south beach diet, so I need a veggie recipe that I can bring and still stay on track. Something with either broccoli or aspargus...etc

"Fish & Shellfish: The Definitive Cook's Companion"
I am a good cook and I really want to learn how to cook fish. Is this a good place to start? I own his other books "Sauces" and "Splendid Soups" and love his approach. Should I buy it?

I looked in the stores for canned gumbo, but it didn't taste that great. None of my cookbooks at home have a recipe, does anyone know how to make it, and does it take long? It can be any flavor like chicken or seafood. Thanks.

I thought I had an old recipe but can't find it anywhere. I've got plenty of different beans and I seem to remember it has molasses in it - got that too. I'd like to have a go at the genuine recipe.
Thanks.

I am a very inexperienced cook and I'm really not sure what a curry is. I've heard of them before but never paid attention to how to make one. Does anyone have a simple recipe to make a good one? Thanks a bunch!
