"Fish & Shellfish: The Definitive Cook's Companion"
I am a good cook and I really want to learn how to cook fish. Is this a good place to start? I own his other books "Sauces" and "Splendid Soups" and love his approach. Should I buy it?

Yes, James Peterson is a really good author for cookbooks. I alwo own his Sauces book. I don't own the fish and shellfish, but we did use it when I went to culinary school. It also got great reviews on amazon.com

I wouldn't all the cookbooks I have it seems there is only 1 or 2 recipes in the whole thing. I once was afraid of cooking fish here is what I did. Got Talapia sprinkled on some Mrs Dash lemon and pepper place in a shallow baking dish lined with foil. Set oven to broil should be done in 10 min. should flake with fork.

I guess it's easy for me to say this because I live in the northwest where fish is in abundance, but fish is so simple to cook and prepare. Salmon snapper Cod Shrimp it's simple. but um I guess a cook book would be okay to use too. I just go off what I have been taught all my life when preparing fish.

I haven't heard of it but is sounds interesting.

You can always hit the website "www.allrecipes.com" it is amazing and has everything I have ever wanted to find out about there.

It may be better than buying a book and its here on the web for free.

: )

Happy Cooking !

if you love to cook, you already have a library of cook books, so another one won't break your budget and might enhance your knowledge.
