I have tried several different wines but I don't like the tartness or the bitterness that some have and some are just too dry. Sangria is pretty good, I like the sweetness...but I want to explore. I am new to drinking wine, any tips or suggestions?

I went to a restaurant and had "Old Fashioned Garlic Steak"...this was the best steak Ive ever had....it looked like sliced steak with tiny bits of garlic on the top...but the taste was amazing,.....anyone ever have it...or make it for that matter.....Im looking for the recipe! Thanks!
