They are made out of everything that is left over from the pig that can't be sold. People eat pig feet so they do not use much of that. Its mainly the fat of the pig and other things that just might make you sick hearing if you knew. If you want to eat hot dogs anymore you just might want to leave that question unanswered.

My Uncle Ferguson used to be a butcher, and I once asked that same question!! And boy, do I regret that (I loved hot dogs, and I have never been able to get myself to eat one since!)...
Um. Well, if you need to know, you won't ever eat them again so do not read past this point if you want to continue eating hot dogs

My Uncle told me (he used to MAKE them but he hated it so he quit because it was so disgusting!) that they are made usually out of pig's flesh, the outside part is made out of pig's lips. Poor animals. It's so sad. BE A VEGETARIAN.

Hot dogs and bologna are basically made from any fleshy part of a hog or cow that NO ONE should eat. Lips, feet, tongues, tails whatever they decide to throw in. I watched them being made once, and I have never eaten a hot dog or bologna since. It is a truly disgusting sight to see.

hot dogs or frankfurters are from a similar recipe to beef sausages. Lean beef, fat, cereals, water, preservatives and additives. But the mix is made into an emulsion unlike sausages which are a coarse mix, then blanched in boiling water prior to distribution

They are made from all the parts of pigs, cows, chickens and sheep that you don't see on the shelves at the supermarket or the butcher's, just like all sausages!

Meat by products Snouts, butts etc.they make it from different animals.

They do use the hoofs but not for hot dogs. that's what gelatin is made of

There was a place around delancy st in New York where you're allowed to watch them being made.

They really taste good, but to watch them being made, you might lose your appetite for a while. I did.

The wieners are then filled right into a casing, the two organic (intestines) or synthetic (plastic, it fairly is stripped off after steaming). they're cooked by technique of steaming them then cooled and packaged. they don't look to be made out of eyes, snouts, ears and so on.

Kosher beef hotdogs are made of actual beef, good, edible cuts of it.

The funky pink cheap ones, you really probably don't want to know.
