I have a friend I would like to include in the wedding party, but unfortunately there is just no room (physically!) at the altar to add another person. I would still like her to be in the wedding, so I was thinking about asking her to be an honorary bridesmaid (I've seen this done at another wedding). She would still be invited to all events, would walk down the aisle before the bridesmaids, but would wear a different dress and would sit with the family instead of standing at the altar. What do you guys think of this practice?

I'm 26 and haven't seen him in 4 years. We were pretty good friends in high school and had some classes together, but he started dating this girl I confided in him I liked right after I told him, and he rubbed that in my face a lot so towards the end of high school we weren't quite as good friends.

I'm not very social at all and am still living at home and getting licenses to help with my family business. I don't go out with anyone except my family members and a few close friends.

I've never been to a wedding, and don't know if I'm going to know anyone there, what to wear, or what you're supposed to do.. I also don't drink alcohol, which I've heard everyone drinks at weddings.

What exactly would I do if I went there? I went to a cocktail reception a few years ago and I feel very uncomfortable standing around having small talk with strangers. Would it be considered rude to send him a gift and a card instead? I'm afraid of sitting at a table starring at a napkin the whole time

What do you think would be a good gift?
What do you think we (bride and groom to be) should spend?
Would you prefer a keepsake or short-lived treasure (say, jewelry or food)?

I am drawing a blank on what to give. My fiance and I have 5 bridesmaids, 5 groomsmen, 2 flowergirls. None of them are travelling for the wedding, but they have all put in their time and money. I want to show them I truely appreciate them. Having never been in a wedding myself, I have no clue where to even begin. I know that the groomsmen (and my fiance) have been in a bunch of weddings where they have received: a beer mug, a "poker set" (deck of cards, pencil and paper in a fine wooden box), a flask, and shot glass. All personalized. Not so sure on the bridesmaids. I know I don't want to get them jewelry for the wedding (though I haven't completely eliminated jewelry in general) because they picked their own dresses and they're all different, I don't want to them to have the same jewelry.
Thank you

I know you're supposed to hand-address the invites, but what about save the date cards? I'm planning a wedding from overseas and don't want to make my mom address the envelopes for the save-the-dates magnets by hand....can she print labels? Anyone know what etiquette calls for in this area?

I met this great guy and now we are engaged which i am happy about, I cannot wait to be his wife. however I have noticed that since I moved in I do not see him as much as I would like. I do not like to be alone all the time. Due to our work schedules we only have one day off together and that will even chagnge when I go back to school. I told him that I understand it is not his fault but I feel distannt because we do not have that quality time. I explained later on I think it would be easier but we are new together, newly engaged and I feel time together is crutial. He thinks that if my birthday is on Mon that it is ok not to see me as long as we celebrate that weekend and to me it hurts that i spend my birthday alone. By time the weekend comes..it does not matter that much, cause its not my birthday. I explained this to him cause we try to be as honest as possible to eachother, but then he was sad, saying that he does what he can and now he feels un appreciated. :(

I am having either a spring or late summer wedding. The girls colors will be either light purple or a light yellow. I am outdoorsy and love simplicity. But the one thing I LOVE the most is Disney. My fiance agreed to have subtle touches of disney here and there but nothing tacky. I'm not a huge fan of the common Cindrella Wedding(glass slipper, carriage...). So what I was wondering is does anyone have suggestions for subtle touches of Disney(decorations, favors....)I've already got the music down, but I am looking for more. I want to get across that disney is a big part of us. It may sound immature, but it's what keeps us innocent in a world that seriously lacks innocence. The castle is also where he proposed so thats another reason Disney holds a special place in our hearts.Again I don't want to overindulge in disney, I just want a few touches here and there...remember we are country people who love simplicity and not fancy

My fiance is 33 years old. This weekend he is going out with 3 of his guys friends (i know all of them very well)...they will be meeting up with 2 girls that him and his best friend use to date when they were around 15 years old. I am not going since this is be all of his old friends talking about old times....I don't want him to feel like he needs to keep me entertained. They are only going out for a few drinks. I thought I was ok with this until one of my girlfriends asked me if I was crazy for even considering letting him go. She thinks I'm asking for trouble. I'm not sure I see a big problem with this. I can't and won't keep a leash on him. He's a grown man and will do what he wants either way.....am i wrong? advise anyone?

a venue i'm considering says you have to buy/ set up your own bar. they will supply bartenders. rules- no shots, blender drinks, kegs. this sounds like it might be way cheaper than having an open premium bar at another venue. any thoughts, ideas, price ranges?

We're planning on having a very relaxed wedding in the Virgin Islands, and really weren't planning on having a traditional bridal party (many reasons) I am still hopeful we will have a shower, but I don't know who would throw such a thing. Has our decision to forgo having a bridal party also nixed our chances of having a shower?

Plan a wedding that would be doable within the time frame. Oh yeah, since you just found out, you have no savings to go on! You have only $5000!
Describe what you are planning and how much you spend on what.
