I know you're supposed to hand-address the invites, but what about save the date cards? I'm planning a wedding from overseas and don't want to make my mom address the envelopes for the save-the-dates magnets by hand....can she print labels? Anyone know what etiquette calls for in this area?

As I am living overseas, my mom asked if she could help to send out the save-the-dates that I designed and ordered online, but I don't want it to be a lot of work for her. Had I been home, I would have hand addressed them myself since it's a pretty formal wedding. My fiance has taken on the bulk of wedding planning in my absence which is why my mom offered to help in the first place (I live in the Middle East and we're planning a Midwest wedding).

I asked around on this when I was getting ready to send out my save-the-dates, and the feedback I got was that, as far as etiquette goes, they should be hand written.

It wasn't that bad though. You can make the list for your Mom, and she can do a few at a time in her spare time.

As long as the wedding invitations are hand addressed, it's OK to use labels for the save the date cards.

Save the Dates are informal, especially if its a magnet you are send out (great idea BTW!) Its totally appropriate to print out labels to address them

Good luck!

I didn't know the invitations were supposed to be hand-addressed. Looks like I better get to work.

I sent out my Save-the-Date cards with labels.

It is perfectly acceptable to send out the save-the-date cards using address labels. They aren't really considered formal, so anything goes! Congrats on your upcoming nuptials!

I would hand address them. But it's not a HUGE breech of ettiquette if you use labels.

Good LUCK!
