I am having either a spring or late summer wedding. The girls colors will be either light purple or a light yellow. I am outdoorsy and love simplicity. But the one thing I LOVE the most is Disney. My fiance agreed to have subtle touches of disney here and there but nothing tacky. I'm not a huge fan of the common Cindrella Wedding(glass slipper, carriage...). So what I was wondering is does anyone have suggestions for subtle touches of Disney(decorations, favors....)I've already got the music down, but I am looking for more. I want to get across that disney is a big part of us. It may sound immature, but it's what keeps us innocent in a world that seriously lacks innocence. The castle is also where he proposed so thats another reason Disney holds a special place in our hearts.Again I don't want to overindulge in disney, I just want a few touches here and there...remember we are country people who love simplicity and not fancy

If you have a picture of the two of you in Disney from the proposal, I would suggest getting that picture blown up and framed to have hanging either at the wedding or the reception. You could also make that the background pic for the invitations or something. As for decorations/favors that incorporate Disney, I would keep it simple and subtle. Your wedding cake topper could be Mickey and Minnie. Your napkins could have little Diney characters embossed on them. If you're inviting kids to the reception, you could have cupcakes for them with Mickey on top (or some other character) instead of giving them the expensive cake. For favors, go for something like mixed cd's of Disney love songs or a small picture of you and your fiancee in Mickey ears. And you've probably already thought of this, but why not use classic Disney songs for the wedding and the reception? There are so many great love songs to chose from, you could even make your first dance together at the reception a Disney song.

Congratulations and enjoy! It sounds like your wedding will be a lot of fun!

wow I want a disney wedding too! im into the whole tinkerbell thing, so id probably have pixie dust (sparkles) on everything. i d want the cake to have really subtle add ins like silver mickeys, which i saw on the food networks disney wedding episode. I would want the brides maids to have flowers in their hair, and i would want the flower girl to be dressed in a flowery gown with wings, like a fairy. I dont know all the details yet because im only 15, but i dream everyday about my disney fairy tale wedding!

Good luck, and congratulations!

hmmmmm... the key to making a wedding like this work without looking overly childish or "themed" is, like you said, subtly. The glass slipper is a very nice touch.

The best thing I can think of is to incorporate "hidden Mickeys" in your reception decor. (For those who don't know what I'm talking about, check this out: http://www.oitc.com/Disney/WhatIs.html ) That is fun and simple, HUGE on the innocence factor and yet isn't so kitch or cheesy that people are going to mock your wedding.
