The few places I saw carmel apples for sale in bulk was a little expensive for me. I only want to spend $2.00 max per favor. Sounds cheap but thats all I can afford, because we have other gifts for guest. Anyway... If I can not find a cheap place to make my apples I would make them myself. Ihave done it before for halloween parties, they came out great. My problem with that is...How long can I store them? Could I freeze the carmel apples? Iknow the candy ones will crack. I will have so much to do around the time of my wedding I just want to get these cute favor ideas done. Thanks

My best friend is getting married. She has been engaged for about 18 months, and, as the maid of honor, I have been involved in a lot of the planning. At first, I was excited, but it's dragging on so long, and she is really putting an unreasonable amount of pressure on me to do things her way. I am a single mother, and I work and go to school, and she tries to make me feel guilty when I can't do, or am not enthusiastic about doing something for her. Am I being unreasonable?

So many people here make nasty comments to other uses when they talk about wearing white wedding dresses or not, it seems to be a really big issue. What is it all about? I found this information about white wedding dresses:

The wearing of a white bridal outfit is a long lived Victorian tradition. Because delicate white garments were practically impossible to keep clean, a wedding dress could only be worn once, and therefore was seen as a symbol of status, and not an indictor of a woman's virtue, as only the wealthy could afford them. It was only after World War II that the white wedding dress was seen as an indication of a woman's virtue.

In this day and age people should stop being judgemental about other people's choices, who cares if the bride is or is not a virgin, isn't that something that should be kept private between the couple, rather than the wedding guests speculating about it just because of the colour of the dress?

do guests that decide to bring a gift usually choose things from the registry, or do they pick out their own gift for the most part? im asking because i'm a week and a half away from my wedding and you know how when its close to time you're supposed to check the registry to make sure there is still enough variety left? (please no speeches because yes i know bringing a gift isn't mandatory, so please no speeches about how i shouldnt think about the gift, thats not the point in my question) well when i checked mine, only the 3 gifts that already came to my house (no i didnt open them) have been purchased. im NOT saying i expect gifts. all i want to know is, do the majority of guest that DO give gifts pick from the registry? or do they pick out their own thing? is wedding gift shopping a very last minute thing for most people? i havent been to many weddings, let alone been married, so im just curious.

Although I'm not engaged yet, my bf and I are seriously talking about it. He mentioned he wanted to have his ex girlfriend and best friend as a bridesmaid. I'm not friends with this girl at all, and hanging out with her sans my man is always super weird, there is definetly some tension there. I don't think I will enjoy my shower, bachlorette party etc as much if she is there. I want the day to be special for my bf too, should I suck it up and have her in the wedding?

how long should you wait before getting engaged??
i've been with my boyfriend for 6 months, we have NEVER spent a night apart. we live together and are in love. my question is, when is it ok to get engaged? i dont want people to look at our relationship and think that its fake, because its only 6 months old! my reasons for wanting to get engaged now (apart from loving him to death!) is because we want to get a mining job together and i think we would have more of a chance of getting it if we were engaged and they saw us as true partners not just 'boyfriend/girlfriend' also a home loan as a married/ defacto means $70k more even though our income stays the same. i know that we will get engaged eventually, we both want kids together (it sounds crazy this soon, but we can just tell that we have found the right one in each other) and we both want to get married in the future, but is it worth becoming engaged for those reasons? i woudnt do this if i didnt love him too...
