Start by picking a date with your fiance and decide on a budget. Then decide how many people you are gonna invite (how big your wedding will be) and make a list. Pick venues for ceremony and reception, colors, wedding party, flowers, photographer and so on.

I suggest using the knot. This is a great website for helping you to set a buget, make your lists and it has a gallery of wedding dresses for you to browse.

Good luck and congratulations!!!

http://www.theknot.com is an excellent planning site, and you can buy their wedding planner on amazon.

First, pick a date. Just remember if you want it in a busy area (say June on the beach in the Outer Banks) that some places need to get your reservations in asap since they fill up a year in advance.

Then work on your budget. EXPECT to pay for the wedding. Any donations from family should be only an added bonus.

Small? Large? Justice of the Peace? Formal? Fun? Informal?

How many bridesmaids and groomsmen do you want? Talk with your fiance about who you would want to stand up with you.

Guests... Just family? Family and friends?

Oh yeah, ENJOY your engagement!

www.theknot.com or www.weddingchannel.com

First, figure out a budget and how many people you want to invite. Pick a date! Find the location and secure it with a deposit. Then work on finding a caterer, if that's the way you're going. Find a DJ or a band after that. (It's amazing how fast some things can get booked.) After that, it's more of the "smaller" stuff - at least in my opinion. Good luck! :)

Start by determining how many people you want to invite, and how much money you will be able to spend on it. The ball is really in your court, your wedding can be as plain or as fancy as you want it to be. Remember if there's a certain place you want the wedding to take place, call long ahead to make reservations.

I am using theknot.com and Martha Steward wedding planner book- I think it helps to have something you can carry with you as well.

First step to give you a hint- if find a dress. The dress will give you a bases to base all your ideas and themes off of. Like for example you won't do a modern look with a traditional fairy tale dress. Everyone told me to pick my dress first and it's the truth- after that you base everything around it.
