I don't have pictures to offer, but yes, it's quite common in some areas to use fire department halls for parties and receptions. My sister and her husband are both firefighters, and used their hall for both showers and their reception.
In my experience, the setup is almost exactly the same as if you were using a hotel or restaurant ballroom for the purpose. Head table(s) for wedding party, tables near the front for the families of the couple, tables for the guests, cake table, gifts table.
Where it varies is how fancy you want to make it. I've seen very nice ones with place settings and tablecloths and flowers everywhere, and I've seen simple weddings with old fashioned barbeque picnic setups.
If you're concerned about the walls, pick a theme and use dropsheets or banners. You can do a lot to center your party with a good theme, so that the actual hall itself doesn't matter.

I didn't have my wedding at one, but I was a bridesmaid at my girlfriend's wedding which she had in a fire hall. Unfortunately I don't have any photos online that I can share, but the evening was nice. I had my doubts at first, I mean, it took some creative decorating to make the hall nice - but we did it. It was lovely, she used lots of wedding gauze and tinny lights, fish bowls with water and tea lights floating in them on the tables, we covered the chairs with wraps and the wedding party table was very lovely. We arranged the seating so that it created an "isle" and she ascended from the back of the hall and down the "isle" to an Arch where the minister and her husband awaited - it was really lovely. And from there, the reception started while we went to a green garden area (previously chosen) to take pictures. All total I think she spent something like $2000 tops on the wedding (the hall was $400 and catering $900). It can be done if you are creative and have friends/family to help you. Congrats and good luck.

I had my Engagement party in a fire department. It was beautiful. I dont have pics on here sorry. The only thing with my fire dept. was on the left side of the wall it was all glass filled with trophys and pictures. So you might need some kind of a back drop to cover it. But every fire Department is different, check the one out you are looking at and jot down some ideas. Good luck and congrats!! :)

No they don't. I am in England and in quite a healthy state. Thank you for asking. How is the brigade supposed to respond to emergencies if there is a wedding reception going on at the fire station?

My cousin had her's there.... it was actual all white and she wasn't allowed to hang anything. It was very pretty... the only thing I didn't like is there are no windows. I have pics but you can't see anything because there is just white walls behind us.

My good friend did this in October. It was not very formal but it was perfect cause she didn't want this fancy ordeal. Try it out!
