I've asked people this in the past in conversation. Seems a general rule that the less planning you put into it, the more fun you have and the more likely you will be happy with it later.
When you micromanage minutia to the nth, it just becomes too stressful. When you have a fairy tale dream in your head, like any fantasy, too much can go wrong to "ruin" it.
I believe those who concentrate on having family there and keeping it simple have the most fun ( note family is not necessary your blood - family meaning those who make up your core unit - those who support you and make up your life ).
Play great music. Have fun food ! A finger food buffet is great for an afternoon wedding and people get to pick what they want. Have a dance area ( we used plywood on a 2x4 base, painted ) , kick off your shoes, relax, and folks will talk about your wedding in a good way for a long time.

I totally am happy with how my wedding turned out. It was planned in 2 weeks!!! It was like a fairytale and perfect and loads of fun. The key is to seat the people corectly!

My first wedding I had hurt my back so could not enjoy the day as much as I wanted to, could not even dance, but it looked like everyone had a good time!
Second wedding was boring, I must say!!!

I think most are happy with the way it turns out; people still talk about our reception and that was 17 years ago; we had the time of our lives...

My wedding was great. Wish we had a reason to have a party like that again. Had a good DJ, Great Food, Open Bar, 125 guests, all for around 10,000. Great day.
