Have three kids, son 14, two daughters 17 and 20, eldest is off at college.

My second daughter expressed that she wanted to explore living with her dad more. After many months of discussion I agreed...so her and her brother moved to go live with their dad more this past December. They are about 30 min. away ~ no school change. I'm feel right about the choice / decision...yet I miss them much as I don't see them as often. I used to have 80% custody. Was important to me to keep siblings together...so they both went...Son is fine with me...yet he's also fine with being with his dad and sis.

I'm doing fine with all...learning this new lifestyle of living on my own more...never experienced this before they moved out. I'm (joyfully so) 50, was married 23 yrs., peacefully divorced 4 yrs.

A friend said yesterday..." It's not like they died...they just moved away ". Teens can drive a parent ' bonkers '...yet they are who they are and you raise them. Why does this hurt so much ?

I never thought jealousy could be such a powerful negative force that can turn someone into a complete loser. I have witnessed this in my brother. He ended up having a bitter divorce mainly because he got jealous with his wife and his in-laws closeness. He blames everyone being happy in their life and he is not. He does nothing to make it better for him. Instead, he gets even more jealous to see people happy around him. I tried to help him out initially, but it seemed he wanted to sink my ship along with his. How can he be helped or he should just be left alone? He won't probably go to the doctor, because he doesn't think he is the problem.

Im almost 13 years old, I have a sister who is 11 and a brother who is 7. My problem is my sister. I treat her like a sister and i would say very nicely. She treats me like im younger than her. My parents especially my mom treat her like a queen. My brother doesn't seem to care as much as i do because he doesn't really understand but he has been telling me about it. Here are some examples. being spoilt: she gets what she wants. In 1 month she got a phone, webcam, ipod, psp. I only have a phone which compared to hers is nothing plus i lost it. My mother allows her any sleepover she wants she allows me to but not always. Those are just to examples of being spoilt. There is so much more but it wont fit on here. The main thing is that I cry everyday i pray to god for my life to change. I have been holding this inside holding my stress for to long from 5th grade to 7th.I finally realized i have to do something about it.Can someone help me? I feel like shes the Queen and im the servant. Sam

whilst walking on the beach today with my family, my lovely 14 year old streetwise daughter decided to investigate a deep tunnel entrance to mine workings at the foot of some cliffs. She went to to walk into the dark tunnel entrance with the torch on her mobile and misjudged the depth of water and fell in completely under the stinking water! As we rushed foward to rescue her all we could see was the back of her puffer jacket with one arm held out above the water grasping her mobile phone-saving it from ruin. She badly bruised her knee and got soaked from head to foot but was more concerned about her phone than the possibility of drowning .After pulling her out, I sat her down and tried to comfort her but I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, instead I laughed until I cried! and she sulked all the way home. Kids eh?

Recently I had a conversation with my brother who told me he is counting the days until his son turns eightteen so he can stop child support. My nephew will still be in school when this happens. My brother spends no time w/ his son had to be forced to pay & he wouldn't even acknowledge his son until he was well over three years old, that's when I met my nephew. My mother always complained about the fact that my father wasn't around and how he had to be forced to provide for us as well, yet she wont encourage my brother to be a better father and makes excuses for him. She makes out like he's actually doing a good job with his son when he's done practically nothing at all. His son doesn't even know where his father lives. Why do men act as if only the woman should bear the cost of a child and that as fathers, they should be able to get off? My nephew is a great kid, and his mother has done a great job with him. I ended the conversation with my brother in disgust. What do you think?

I know a woman that is about 32 and has two daughters, ages 11 and 13, and there is a boy that comes over and sleeps between them at night. I think he is about 13. Do you think there are very many mothers that allow this kind of thing? Are they brain dead or what?

This is a long story so please bear with me, any advice you could give would be really helpful.
My mother left my father (and me and my brother with him) for another man when I was very young, it lasted a matter of weeks and she then wanted to return to my dad, who told her she had made her bed go lie in it.
anyway, she then said she was pregnant, but as she was staying with a pregnant woman my father couldn't trust the pregnancy test she showed him, and he had very little trust for her at this point. He told her to have the baby (which was convinced didn't exsist) and they could talk then. She was having none of it, and disppeared for months and months a short time later. (My dad doesn't remember the exact amount of time)
Anyway, when she came back she said she had lost the baby, and they eventually got back to gether, just for her to run off again a few years later. this time for good.
My dad only told me all this last year, and he said that he doesn't believe she had a

Last month i lost a 5 month ld nephew, on his death i was shattered, i fell to pieces, i went through blaming myself to asking myself why i didnt know.
Losing him was like losing one of my own sons.
How do you recover from such a lost?

The topic of death has recently come up in our home, mostly about naming a guardian for our children should something ever happen. But it got me thinking. Someday my mother will pass away and I am next of kin. She is unmarried, our family lives across the country and we are not close. When she passes I will be next of kin and I have NO CLUE how one handles that sort of thing. How do I plan a funeral or pay for one? How do I contact far away relatives I havent spoken to since I was a child? What besides a funeral do I do? I assume there is a will. But how do I pay her final expenses? Are they my responsibility (I only ask because we are hardworking people who just make ends meet)?
Tell me everything. What do you do when you are next of kin and no one is there to help you through that awful time?

I have lost someone dear to me before, but I was not his next of kin either, none of it was my responsibility.

I haven't talked to my dad in almost a year 1/2 because he sent me an email making it quite clear he wanted nothing to do with my family or me ever again. As it was he already had weaseled out of child support and I only saw him a couple of times a year in holidays. He moved to Wagga with my stepmum (who is also evil) to aggravate my mum because he knew he could get at her best by making me upset. I still saw him for a few years before this happened but now I don't want to ever be a part of this losers life. He did this to my twin half brothers for 2 and a half years and it took my mum that whole time of pleading to convince him to talk to them again. He never apologised and they try to stay out of this because they don't want it to happen again. He does this to the kids he "loves" to get at his exes...had a rough childhood and my theory is that he had all feeling drilled out of him so does whatever he wants and feels no one elses pain, only that to his pride. Should I contact him?
