It might be a great idea if you make hima book with photos of your favourite moments with him, almost like a scrap book of just dad, it can be of pics wiwth just him doing his favourtie things or it can be the whole family but mainly pics of him with someone else and you can write little captions next to them, or write where it was and what you were doing in the pics, that means a whole lot more because photographs are for life and he can look back at the book adn think that you took teh time out to capture all his favourite moments and put them together for him to look at when you all leave the house and go to college, it will be his memory because we all know that men do not generally like ot look at photo albums but this is a book about dad...i made on eofr my husbadn with just pictures of himadn our daughter adn he is away from home alot, he is in the army and whereever he goes he takes that book with hiim to show others his daughter and just to haev with him everyday to know that she misses him

When I was your age I wanted to do something special for my dad, too. He had a motorcycle (bought it when he was 50, without any prior experience). So, I make him a "motorcycle card" with crayons, markers, paints, etc. Every birthday and father's day, he would get a card and he grew to looking forward to the next one. They were all different, some with square wheels, whatever. So, I suggest that you make your dad a card with whatever his hobby is drawn on it. He'll love it more, because you made it. My dad passed away a year and a half ago. He had a collection of 38 cards made from me, some he kept out the others were found in his desk drawer. Make him a card.

What a good idea you have!
Here's something I did for my Mom for Mothersday several years ago. I scanned pictures of the family, my siblings, family events, our home.., fun and interesting pictures, ... old and new pictures... into the computer. I used a graphic tool to put together a collage with a theme of the world's best Mom and her family. Anyway you get the idea. I think it was a very personal, unique and fun gift for her. She absolutely loved it even though it wasn't very polished. Maybe you could make a personal calender.

Whatever idea you have I'm sure it will be very special to your Dad. Good luck!

first you need to make him a card, with the computer it isn't very hard. tell him you appreciate him, list the things that he does for you that you never thank him for and let him know that you do know the sacrifices that he has made to give you things that he never had. include in the card a hand made invitation to an event that you can go to together, make it something he likes to do. a movie he wants to see, a game he likes,{mini golf, go carts, fishing,} some activity that you can do together. or offer your services, to clean his car, help with the yard, prepare his favorite dinner, something that takes some work or sacrifice on your part, then tell him you have the best father ever and that you love him. he will be very surprised and emotional. i know, i have children and i would rather have a card from the heart, than something bought that i will probably not use. good luck!!!

I recently got some gifts that were purchased from Cafepress. Check them out. You could make something for your dad like a t-shirt, coffee or beer mug, cap, calendar, etc. What if you took a picture you drew now or when you were younger and had it printed? Or you could make a calendar with photos of everyone in the family. My brother makes one every year for our parents on his color printer, so you could also do this at home. Then, you have a gift that your dad can enjoy all year long.

well you should have told some things that he likes, if he likes comics get him a graphic novel or something, if he like to work out get him some wights, if he likes a TV show or movie get him a poster or some connecting memorabilia, um... how about something for his car if he has one, or maybe if hes a sensitive guy just spend a nice romantic day with him and finish it off with a Sweet love session lol, try to think of any time you've been in a Store and you hear him say "oh i want this" as a joke (maybe he really does) or "you know what i need" basically just go over his likes and dislikes and you should come up with something :) good luck

My niece made her father a scrapbook. She put photos and wrote him little stories about things he had done with her over the years. He was so moved, he cried. It is one of his most cherished belongings...and, he is a rich man! This is what I'd recommend. How much more personal could you get? You are a sweetheart to want to do something creative and unique for your father. He's very lucky.

I know a young lady who purchased a large dream catcher for her father and in the netting, she weaved both his and her name. It was very beautiful and had such significant meaning as a dream catcher does. The father and daughter names inside the catcher touched his heart and he displays it in an area of the house that he most proudly hangs out with his friends. Very sweet of you to think of something more personable. Good luck.

From the question i think you care for ur dad very much and can do anything for his happiness...so just think of what is very much fond of....anything he would love to have..he may just like to celebrate alone with his family so i think the best way is to give him a surprise of the fondest thing he likes...he may be having it but when he gets it from you he will be the most happy because he know that you care for him so much...

maybe you could get a small picture frame and decorate it with things that remind him of you. then put your pic in it. he can keep it on his desk. do that and bake a birthday cake.
