My 36 year old sister broke up with her boyfriend after a year of going out(She found him with another woman)The problem is that she is doing things not in her nature. She is drinking and picking fights with our family, flirting with my husband, making drunken phone calls to all sorts of guys.just being self destructive.I dont know how to help her and really Im starting to lose my patience with her.I mean everybody goes through break ups but is this normal.I have been in a relationship that didnt work out either but i dealt with it but not like this.I need help I dont want to see her hurt herself but I cant take care of her either.

You got a good Boy friend, who she could go out, or try to hook her up with somebody, thats the only way i see it. You got lot of more work to do. but be a good sister, even thouh she say no or rude to you. She will love you for it once she got over him

She truly needs someone to talk her anger, disappointment and hurt over with. Please don't tell her to, "Get over it, I did." This will only make her feel worse than she does. She's depressed, sad, feeling like she wasn't good enough, and is using the alcohol as self-medication. Flirting with every man she sees is her way of proving to herself she is still attractive and appealing to someone. When she comes out of this emotional "break down" she is going to be really ashamed and embarassed so make sure you remember to tell her we all make mistakes.

alcohol can be very destructive in the wrong person. Spend more time with her through this period. Call her and do stuff with her. She will meet another man soon.

every person handles situations differently...seems like shes heading for a breakdown...her ego was shot so shes trying to redeem it by flirting with ur husband... wow.... that would piss me off.lol...if she was hurt why would she want to hurt u.. her sister. you need to just sit her down and tell her to slow down.... drinking will add on to her problems... and making enemies isnt going to be a good move...tell her u will be there for her but she needs to change..this is not normal to me...she needs therapy... shes too much to handle and its out of ur hands.... good luck...

There is no way to "fix" another person's behavior, especially an adult. Avoid her if you can, slap her if she's a problem.
