My brothers used to tape over all my favourite movies so they could watch their own. They also used to do the Type Writer - still sends shivers down my spine thinking about it. AND, if we went to the beach they would put sand down the back of my pants so it looked like i crapped myself.

What did you do to your siblings, or what did they do to you to torture you. Did anyone get the type writer?

I am sick of my mother in laws gossip, she talks about me to my sister in law, my sister in law to me, even her sons are fair game, she tells me about people I dont even know.(she seems to think she is doing me a favour by telling me all this stuff) some of it s quite nasty (saying my sister in law only married her son to get immigrancy and that I was cheating on my husband which isnt true) I dont think this behaviour is necessary, how do I tell her that I dont want to hear it without offending her

Well, here goes. I just came out of the closet and had a big fight with my mom. She got upset, I got upset. We both said some harsh words and some things we didn't really mean. I love her. She loves me, but there's no way we're going to make up right now, because she is still upset with me and I am still upset with her and this fight was just last night. My dad is out of town for awhile. Anyway, she just went grocery shopping and I am starving. She gave me this evil eye when I past through the kitchen and slammed a cabinet closed. I know in ten years she will get used to my homosexuality. Anyway, right now I am thirsty as **** and her office is right next to the kitchen. She spends 24/7 in her office and I am really hungry. I haven't eaten all day today or drank anything either. She seems to be up all day and all night. I can't really tell because I feel uncomfortable around her. Anyway, can ya'll mail me some food?

Hello everyone. I need some advice and an opinion on something. My father in law is 50 years old and almost 350 lbs. He has high blood pressure, diabetes that he uses insulin shots for, high cholesterol, etc. He refuses to get help for his problems. He has gained over 100 lbs. in the last 5 years and keeps going. His diabetes was mild up until a year ago and he controlled it with a pill. He continues to consume whole pizzas, donuts, candy, etc. He is on over 20 pills a day. My husband and I have a three year old and a five year old. He comes to see them twice a month, despite living a mile away. He has a new truck, so driving is not an issue. He refuses to get healthy and get off all of these medications. He has no thyroid problems, etc. for his weight problems. He will not play with our kids or go to holiday events. On holidays, he sits home in bed. When he does visit, he can't stay out of bed for more than 2 hours. He is very mean to the whole family. He takes pills for depession..

the other day we went to my hubby's moms house and my daughter just got her hair cut and shaped. she said "hi gramma"!
"i just got my hair cute do you like it?"...then gramma said (sarcastically).."well, good for you"..."are you trying to fish a compliment from me?"...i thought it was rude and my daughters feelings were hurt.
then another incedent was when we were all there my hubby was walking upstairs to see his brother so i followed him up thereto say hi too and as I did...my mother in law laughed and made barking sounds at me and said" oh look there look at the pathetic lost puppy" (referring to me) she said "why do you have to follow ron around like a lil puppy dog?"..she said this infront of my daughter and then i said " why are you being so mean to me?" then she said out loud "go to hell *****!" (in front of our child too!)
what would u all do in a situation like this?

Adult child: 46, going through divorce, unemployed, extravagant lifetsyle, house payment
Parent of Adult child: 79, widowed, owns home, living off savings, simple lifestyle
The adult child asks for money repeatedly (total $50K+ in 2006).

The parent gives and gives and gives. Even when the child's divorce is settled and when the child gets a job the child feels they will still need about $1,600 monthly from parent.

Sure the child is wrong for asking but is the real problem that the parent keeps giving in to the requests? The parent is concerned that his money will eventually run out and he will have to somehow survive. The child continues to waste money.

she is going to take driving school in summer and i'm jealous. i'm more jealous that my dad might get a third car and she will consider it hers. she will act that way. i know she is older than me but i was real jealous when she could sit in the front seat and i couldn't. i'm not jealous of that anymore b/c i can sit there now. but i's just the fact about the third car that gets me. she'll drive to school with HER friend and i'll be stuck in the back. i'll need to wait another 2 years to drive b/c i have a late b-day and am in 8th grade. how do i get over this jealousy

My question pertains to my 9 year old son. He is a very gifted child. He makes straight A’s in school with little or no effort. He has athletic skills beyond most 9 year olds in a wide variety of sports. It seems what ever he dose he can do well. When he trains at something he dose get better very fast. Let me set the living arrangement. His mother and I are divorced and I am remarried now. His mom dose baby him to a degree. When we go to eat he still wants to eat from the kids menu. When I know that that will not fill him up and he will be hungry in a short time latter. But his mom lets him order from the kids menu and he argues with me when I tell him to order from the adult menu. Its little things like that that I think do not help him mature. Ok here’s my question. In most circumstances when he has any type of failure he breaks down and cry’s. Like in a baseball game last night he missed a pop fly that was not that easy of a catch. He got upset with himself and then missed another play. This really shook him up and he broke down crying. I try to combat this in different ways but none of it seems to help. I have tried rewording him for not doing it. I have tried just talking to him positively about it. I have tried threading to take him out of the game. This happens in all the sports he plays. Like in soccer if he drives down the field and shoots and misses he will start to cry. I also ask him about pro sports stars and how they make mistakes and ask him if he is perfect, when he says no I say well no one is and we all miss plays so just move to the next one, you will get the next one you have a lot of baseball or soccer or what ever sport to play and you will make that play most of the time. He can’t seem to. It is so bad it really takes a great player out of the game when he doses this because he dwells on it so much. How can I fix this? What can I tell him to get him back on track?

"I should've left y'all nasty, filthy, dirty newborn babies where I found y'all. Y'all were so dirty that the social workers were even afraid to even touch y'all!" She told me that about me & my twin sister. It's not our fault we got taken away & our biological family neglected & abused us & the biological mother would put us in the clothes drawer, & then when we'd cry for food or to get our diaper changed, she'd shut the drawer, & she abandoned us & tried to murder us. I heard that we weren't even bathed & we had cigarette burns on us & everything. & as NEWBORN babies!

I feel so hurt to be told that & now, I'm 23 yrs. old & after Hurricane Katrina, I had to live with the foster mom again in order to finish college because there was no place else to live, & this year for Mardi Gras, I went to get the rest of my belongings from her house & she told me that same mean statement. I'm so glad that I moved on my own to Brooklyn, NY.

When my father died (we wern't close) I don't know what happened to his personal effects. I am interested in things like the family photo collection - no real value to anyone other than sentimental.
I didn't find out he'd died until 9 months after the event and have finally located the solicitors who dealt with the case. The seem disinterested in helping (I can understand - if I took no interest while he was alive ...) are they obliged to tell me who the beneficiaries were or can they simply take the "we don't need to tell you" attitude?
If you want to judge me please remember these are only the brief outline of the information and that's a long way from the whole story.
Many thanks

Tony
