I know each family is different, but is the balance of power truly equal these days or are most women still doing more than their equal share?

My husband and I do but I don't think we are the norm. I hear plenty women complain that their husbands don't help out. I love watching Wife Swap and on there I see more men doing all the work than the woman so who knows.

I do think when you find a husband who helps out he is a true gem.

Good luck!

Yes they should, my husband does. This is important for the santity of both of you. You should share all work and occationally treat each other by doing it all, then it will be that much more appriciated.

My husband and I share cooking cleaning, diaper changing looking after the kid while the other gets a nap. It works for us and our relationship is strong. Neither of us go around griping that we have a whole lot to do, because we don't we work together.

When it comes to raising kids, our son is my husband's pride and joy. He changed diapers when our son was a baby, fed him, etc. Housework is a different story. Since he goes to work outside the home, and I stay home, I do all the cleaning.
