I mean, should we, no matter what has happend in the past forgive pople just because they are family?

A friend's daughter, a great girl, asked for my advice. She's wonderful, but has some difficulties to deal with time, she often comes late for lunch or keeps talking w/ friends and forgets to come home. She agrees she should change. Yesterday she was late for lunch. Her mom wasn't mad, treated her w/ love but gave a small punishment. She had to write some lines, nothing harsh, but sure embarrassing for a 15 yo. Her mom said she'll have to write lines whenever she comes late The girl is a bit resentful and thinks her mom messed up. Her reasoning 1) She's a good girl, she just has difficulty to deal w/ time; 2) Punishments are for "moral" mistakes, which certainly wasn't the case; 3) Instead of punishment, she thinks she should just abide by the consequences, like not having lunch. Though I see the girl's point, I said her mom, out of love, would never deny her lunch. Though I don't agre w/ the punishment, I think her mom showed love, and denying the girl her lunch might be traumatic

I have been with my boyfriend for several years and although we are very happy, his sister is putting a lot of strain on our relaionship. She makes nasty comments and tries to belittle me when we are in his families company, although she is very careful who is there when she does it, and never when her dad is there. She now works in my office and she has started doing it there as well. I am in a senior position, although not in her direct department, but she makes comments to other members of staff about me, kind of trying to mock me like a child, and purposely does the opposte of what I say.
Although I do tell my boyfriend, I feel I have to be very careful what I say, as it is his sister. This is all really upsetting me, and although I enjoy my job and in the have worked very hard to be in the position I am. I am feeling that I may have to look for another job.
What can I do?

My mother-in-law is 85 yrs old and has Altzheimer. She accuses us, her family, of trying to poison her. How do i help or how do i relate to what she's saying? ANY help, please? We live in Israel, not in USA, so contact any support would be pointless. But any other info will help, thank you.

My daughter's name is Kosi Sutherland. She's 20 years old. She lived in London until the mid 1990's when she returned to NZ with her mother, Robyn Sutherland. Robyn is a secondary school teacher. She has friends in and around Auckland - the Pita Tahouma family, and in Kaikohi. Kosi is half Nigerian and I believed she was once friendly with a Nigerian family resident in Auckland. I am Kosi's father and I lost touch with her soon after I returned to Nigeria from the UK in 2002. Kosi and Robyn have changed residence several times so I no longer have any contact address of phone for them. My name is Dr Tunde Arogundade and I am resident in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. I am eager to contact Kosi. We last met in London nearly ten years ago, just before she and Robyn retrurned to NZ.

My sister and her fiance have been dating for over 3 years and have one child together. They are very much in love and have been planning this wedding for a long time. Just the other day she found out that her fiance is actually our father's secret love child. She was devistated. The entire time that she has been dating her fiance our father knew this information and failed to mention it to her. He said that he wanted her to be happy and didn't want to disapoint her with this news. Now she finds out that the man that she has loved for all of these years is actually her blood brother. What should she do? Should they still get married? They have a child together!

My sister is a bad egg and has repeatedly broke in to my house over the last three years, just to stay while i've been on holiday. Only on the day after boxing day while I was at work she broke into my house and stole my brand new Nintendo Wii and all the games and my DS and all the games, breaking my kitchen window in the process. Calling the police didn't work cause they said there wasn't enough evidence. Should I move away, so she doesn't know where I live or should I try and stick it out! If I move am I letting her win.

my parents didn't get me or my brother anything for Christmas, they decided to wait until they got their taxes back and told us we could buy one thing we really want. I'm looking at a Wii or an iPod.. But I'm not sure what exactly I should get. I'm 15, a female and do not have a social life (haha, seriously). I have about 500.00 I can spend...
Anyone have any idea? :) Ty

Most of us have entertained the thought of moving and leaving no forwarding address. Has anyone really done it? If so, what were the repercussions?

I am 29, I have an older sister who is married. Sometimes when I am with my whole family (our mum, dad, my sister and her husband) I act quiet and take a step back because generally they stress me out and my sister is demanding. My Dad is a pain sometimes aswell and the whole experience is stressfull most of the time. They never chill out quietly and they are always talking about something.
I am fed up with them at the moment because they ALL keep saying my behaviour is wrong around them and I act childish (all I do is sit down and be quiet and let them talk). My dad says because I don't join in the conversation I am childish ( I don't want the stress) Is he right? I am really pis*ed off and angry with them at the moment and feel like telling them all to go to he*l. Am I in the wrong?
