Most of us have entertained the thought of moving and leaving no forwarding address. Has anyone really done it? If so, what were the repercussions?

Encourage (I mean, really encourage) them to move out! A guiding hand (or boot) helps to move them in that direction.

My brother-in-law and his wife still live at home with his parents. They have taken over the basement. They have been together for nearly 8 years, and now have a 6-month old child as well. They don't pay rent, utilities, help with chores...nothing. The parents are really supporting another family that is living in their basement.

Adult children living at home for a limited time and under certain circumstances is okay. But when that time is up, it's time to move on...and out!

I would be happy with my daughter staying at home as an adult so long as she pays for board and helps keep the house tidy,I am not encouraging my daughter to move out while studying because students have too ,many expenses. She can move when she is financially stable if she wants to.

I'm still staying at home because I want to save expenses and to lessen my parents' burden. It's because outliving expenses are too huge, and I can't bear my watching parents working hard just to pay the extra expense.

ARe your parents that bad? If they are, then do so. The only repercussions is that you don't see them again and won't get their support (if any). If that's fine with you, then do it.
