I am 24. I currently live with my dad. He is totally unemotional, unaffectionate and pays little to no attention to me or what's going on in my life. My dad has helped me out financially and he thinks this means I should know he loves me. But I don't FEEL loved. Is anyone else going through this and how do you deal with it? Is it possible to FEEL loved without any affection?

I have paid my mother's rent for the last 2 1/2 years. She is 80 yrs old, and I'm not going to let her suffer. Both of us are perfectly capable of helping out financially. Right now I spend 900.00 monthly and I'm asking him for half.

He is responsible for spending the majority of her savings! I am about to get nasty with him....any suggestions?

My dad is turning 58 soon and I have no idea what to get him for his birthday. He is very athletic, ex-football player, and very health conscious. He is the type of guy that does not need much, but if he needs something he already has it. Any suggestions without breaking the bank?

My parents have lived with me for 17 years in spain. My mum died in november. Now my dad is returning to uk to live wih my sn of 32 and his wife 26. I don't get on with them over not bothering with us for the last 5 years. My father has written to them to ask if he can live with them and believe it or not they have said yes. Are they doing it out the kindness of their heart or for his money? He has 15,000 quid. However he said he is leaving me nothing after all these years. I am so hurt. i have tried to reason with him but to no avail. My husband says let him go it's up to him. Also he says I am getting nothing if he dies! I can't belive all this. I have access to his accounts and have taken nothing from him ever. I am tempted to take some money. I know it's wrong but I feel used. I nursed my mum for 5 years as well before she died. What do you think?

My dad never did anything sexual to me but I still hate it when he uses the word "sexy" to describe me when I look nice. I'm pretty sure he doesn't mean anything by it and he believes that it's OK to say it. He says that I'm being irrational when I tell him that he should use other words instead, such as "pretty" or "good", and continues to use the word to tease me. What do you think? Is it appropriate for him to say?

Do you think it is fair that a couple who cannot have kids but are willing to adopt through DCF. DCF has let them go through the whole process (classes and case studies) and when they are one of the families chosen for a placement. They are turned down due to a few factors: One got arrested 5 years ago for a mistake. One is in the Navy and they live in the state they are adopting from but have no family due to being in the Navy. So they have no family support. Do you think this is fair puting them through all this saying that they should have no problem (with the above) adopting a child?

My partner's ex doesn't always taking their daughter to school. We've already tried custody etc.. but unfortunately social services still back the mother despite numerous allergations which I won't go into. We've been trying to keep things as polite as possible otherwise she stops contact but this is becoming an issue. The school have apparently warned her regarding this but she thinks it's a big joke, she get's her daughter (she's only 5) to say she has earache or such to explain absences because in her own words she couldn't get up or had a hangover. She quite ofen takes her to college with her if she knows she can't get home in time to pick her up. Any advise on what we can do? She says that she has years left to worry about school....

I'm not trusted on the computer... I have to leave my door open. My dad says it's because our security online is messing up, and I could be doing bad things. WELL even before it messed up I had to have my door open. They will not give me a direct answer on why they are making me leave open my door. I just want to know why they make me do this, when they know I get fussy over my privacy... (My parents have a record of reading my IM's and cell phone) I just don't understand why! I have calmly, nemerous times, asked them why they make me leave my door open, and they refuse to give me a direct answer. This makes me think of it suspiciously, thinking they do it just because they can. Help me...

A friend of mine makes her 13 yo daughter wear a bodysuit, that undergarment that covers all your torso, back and nd breasts and clips at your crotch. The girls hates that thing, says it's uncomfortable, makes her sweat and none of her friends wear thst thing. But my friend, her mom , says it's for her best, thinks it's god for her body and especially for modesty. She says if most moms werer like her, there wouldnt be so many cases aof teen pregnancy. She doesnt back off, her girl tried to rebel but got punished, grounded and had to give in. I dont agree w/ my friend though I know shes sure its for her girl best. I'd like to knoe if this can be considered child abuse. I don't think it is, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I don't think it'd be a good idea for the girl to report her mom and I dont think she would, after all shes her mom , but Id like to know if this is illegal

My mother-in-law is about to drive me crazy! She is hot and cold with how she feels about me. That's no secret. What I don't understand is how she can be that way with my children. My husband has stood up to her, but it won't do any good. She just won't budge. He told her today, by letter, that if she couldn't accept me and be nice and normal to our kids, then he wants nothing to do with her. I've NEVER asked him to choose between his mother and me, but it seems like that's what has happened here.

Is it wrong that I'm happy with what he did?

My bf's parents do not speak english too well, they are chinese. Over the weekend my bf got mad during a dinner with me and his parents. after we got upstairs he started lecturing me about how i dont talk to his parents... (i answer them when they try to talk to me in english but i guess he wants me to start up a conversation or something..) its especially hard when i dont know what the hell they are talking about in chinese and sometimes his dad is moody and yells at his mom.. and he expects me to say after that "oh so how are u feeling today?"akward?? and his dad just got back from the hospital and puts his head on the table and starts shaking and he wants me to say "oh so how was the stay at the hospital? or something like that. he says i am full of excuses but to me its true. i am a bit uncomfortable because i dont know chinese and because i am also not a people person, but all these things bundled up together doesnt make it easier. what do i do? do you think he is being unfair?

my boyfriend treated me like I was the world until I became pregnant with our daughter. Since then he treats our daughter like he doesn't really like her a whole lot. Im not allowed to have a job, or go to school. he says that I should just stay home and take care of our kids, (he has two other kids that live with us from a previous relationship)

My daughters father owes me over 4 months in child support. Every year he tries to get me to give him permission to claim them (which I don't) I tell him over and over that he can't because 1) he owes them close to 1,000 dollars. 2) he hasn't made payment for awhile. He tells me that how is he suppose to pay his arrears if he can't claim at least one of them? This makes me laugh because every year around this time we go through the same thing. He say ' why can't he claim them if he pays. which he doesnt and even if he did he pays $68.00 for two children. Let me know what you guys think. I dont think its fair for me to allow him to claim them because their both under my care 24-7. I'm the one who provides for them regardless if he provides or not. Besides rent, food , clothing and karate classes expenses, it does add up to way more than $33 dollars per child a week.
