My dad never did anything sexual to me but I still hate it when he uses the word "sexy" to describe me when I look nice. I'm pretty sure he doesn't mean anything by it and he believes that it's OK to say it. He says that I'm being irrational when I tell him that he should use other words instead, such as "pretty" or "good", and continues to use the word to tease me. What do you think? Is it appropriate for him to say?

I'm 17 and it's not so much the fact that he calls me sexy that bugs me, it's more that he doesn't care that it makes me feel uncomfortable.

I don't think it is ok and understand how you feel. He should respect the fact that it makes you uncomfortable and stop it. You are entitled to your feelings and he should not make you feel bad for that.
I had a relative that did the same thing from the time I was born. When I got older, I tried to tell him that I didn't like it and he kept on till another relative explained how it made me feel and was inappropriate.
It did stop for me and I hope it will for you too. I think some men just don't understand how certain comments can make a woman feel. They may mean to pay you a compliment but just not know the correct way and think there isn't any harm in what they are saying.

I think it is okay if he is teasing you about it to make you smile but if you are really uncomfortable about it then it would not make it ok. i had my mom call me worse things (in japanese) but if she said i looked sexy, i would take it as a compliment. I think he is just complimenting you and trying to jokingly push your buttons at the same time since he knows what kind of a reaction you would give him already. Also I think it's different when a father calls you "sexy" rather than when a stranger calls you "sexy"... you know? Same words but different meanings and intentions... I think.

Or tell him this way that...In ur mind A DAD HAS GOT A PLACE WHO CARES,WHO LOVES thats how a child (a son/daughter) should get from his/her father..,the same way if a son calls his mother that u look sexy...how it would be?

Some dad's like to play and tease....only advice...ignore it and it will go away...you've told him. He's having fun...and will continue if you "ACT" like it bothers you..
Yes, it would bother me and Yes you are right. I have taught my boys...teens to use words like nice, pretty and even Wow...but sexy and with a whistle....can be belittling to a girl/woman.

If it bothers you...tell him. I mean if it really bothers you, don't you think he should know. I am sure it's just a term of endearment that has no other meaning but that he thinks his daughter is the most beautiful girl in the world.
