My mother-in-law constantly lies. She tells me things and then lies to my husband about what she said. How do you handle this situation?

My husband and I and our two children of just over 1yr and just over 3 yrs have been invited to a joint family party ( husbands mums 75th birthday and his brothers 30yr wedding anniversary). My dilema is that all of my husbands family are taking their children to the party and I dont want to take ours. This is because i worry about the smoke off ppls cigarettes and the fact that our 3 yr old gets very hyper when it comes get togethers like this. After a family party (once before he had a really bad nights sleep) People have asked us quite a few times why we are not taking the children and I have explained the reason why and still they ask. some say is it cos yous want to get drunk and I say no. My husband and I havent had a night out together for over 2 yrs since our 2nd son was born.So I felt like it would be a night to be ourselves for once I feel like we are being pressurised into taking them and i now feel I dont want to go and just let my husband go with our 3yr old son.

I have noticed a growing trend of American and other Western culture males marrying Asian women. What is wrong with a good old American/Western girl?

Even though i am a girl, i get on better with my dad than with my mother. It has always been this way ever since i was small. Mainly because it was my father who looked aftered me while my mother did her degree at university. But even now when i am older, i get on much better with my dad, I have more in common with him and we have great fun together. He sometimes, talks me clothes shopping, gives out great advice and is always there for me . Me and my mother are ok, she is always nice to me and we talk, now and then. But i find her alittle immature and naggy. We have about 2 things in common, yet i find it easy to talk to her and stuff, and she does help me alot now and then. But normally i see and hear that girls are suppose to be closer with there mothers than with their fathers. But for me it is the other way round. Is That strange?

Do you think people who give up children for adoption should be forced to speak to their (given up) children or give up personal information if the child demands it later in life? Or should the person who gave the child up be allowed to remain completely anonymous if they choose?

I am turning 19 in october and graduated from high school. I don't drink or smoke or swear and graduated in the top 5% of my class. But the latest I am allowed to stay out is 11:30. My other friends either have a curfew of 1 or later or don't have one at all. I've tried talking to my parents but they already think 11:30 is too late and it should be 11. Any advice?

My son is 3yrs 4 months... I also have an 11month old girl. When they play on the floor together he will often almost squash her or kick her just because he is not aware of where he is placing his body or his feet. I don't think he does this on purpose. I really want to help him learn that there are other things and people around him that he needs to be aware of and not hit by mistake..Any suggestions?
