I don't know if you will be able to stop a war. You and your husband may need to take the truck away from your brother and/or make the payments yourself. Sometimes the only way to help is with "tough love." Your brother might hate you, but you can't let him take you down the road to ruin too. I would tell your brother that you won't be able to help him out financially anymore and suggest that he get credit counseling. If he gets his life straighten around because you were tough on him, he will hopefully appreciate what you did for him.

I know someone who has been helped her whole life by her parents and friends. Even though she went through a whole financial restructuring about 18 months ago, she is now in the midst of full blown bankruptcy because she never did learn how to manage her money well. I hope this doesn't happen to your brother but there isn't anything you can to do to make him change, he has to be the one who decides to change and probably won't as long as he has a "safety net."

You're gonna have to impound the car yourself. have to take the keys and take the car without him noticing...then claim not to know anything about it. then tell him it's going to cost the amount of money that is owed in late payments on it for you to get it out of inpound because it's in your name...have him give you the money and then use it to pay off what is owed. it was a bad mistake putting something for someone else in your name. you can buy a used car for like $1500 and have no payments on it....why does he need a truck which cost so much that he has to finance it when he has bad credit in the 1st place. you have to stop taking responsability for his actions for him and let him struggle a bit on his own because he's going to drag you down with him...what does he care if the truck is reposessed? i mean besides not having the truck anymore...does it really affect him? no it affects the financial stability of your future. it affects your future ability to save money on things such as a morgage on a house. he obviously doesn't care about your wellbeing as you do for him or esle he's be more responsible about the investment you made in him.

You are allowing him to do that. Take the truck back! Don't give him any more money or things to make his life easier. The only way he will grow up is if he is kicked out of the nest. Sound mean doesn't it? But that is what is called tough love. If he doesn't get on his own feet now, how long will you be willing to baby him?

first , i think ur husband should take away the truck . ofcourse thats gonna cause a war but what would u prefer get bad credit bcuz ur "lil brother" dont wanna pay u back or re-organized ur credit w. the money that ur brothers owes u ???

talk to him and xplain the situation have him realize the problem he is causing to you and ur husband.

Dont give him any money. If u want to give it to him, dont expect it back. Dont give him something in ur name either. repo the truck from him, he has no legal rights to it. Im sure that ur husband does not want his credit affected by someone elses mistakes. Im sure that u warned him already.

The way you ask the question suggests that you're not really interested in the correct answer but rather try to calm down the inner voice in you.

Hey, take it easy and RELAX! There are people who care about you, OK?

Have a nice day!

You cant get him to pay you back if he's always gonna be a jerk without him not liking it. so take something from him and dont give it back until he pays. Or charge interest.
