We're all aware of the general question "Do I see myself with this person in 20, 30 years from now?" The question I ask myself is "What is it I can offer to this person/this relationship, to make him a better person, a stronger relationship?" and I also ask vice versa "What can this person offer me to make me a better person/a stronger relationship?" I want to know what your question is. Thank you.

I have four girls between 1-6, two cats who love knocking things over just to do it, three outside dogs and a husband who just sits back and does nothing...usually asleep in the glider rocker while the house gets torn apart.
Long story short, if I leave him in charge when I leave, I have to remodel the house when I come home... ha ha.
What are some ideas to get things more in control in the house? Is there a way to teach my husband to help? He used to be very helpful with everything...dishes, picking up, and he also used to cook!
Any and all ideas get a thumbs up.

would you dump the partner you are currently with and upgrade? Or would you keep your current boy/girlfriend and take them up with you?

my fiance and i are thinking we're going to spend about $8500-$9000 on our wedding/reception...

my dad thinks we're spending outrageously- but we've told him we don't expect him to pay for it all, and that we're happy to receive whatever he wants to contribute, no matter the amount. we have no problem saving up and paying for any or all of our wedding, but my dad's pride will be hurt if he doesn't foot most of the bill. how do i make him feel differently? he's also worried about my fiance's parents feeling like they'll have to cover whatever he doesn't.

and are we really spending THAT much for a wedding? i thought the avg cost of a wedding was like $20,000+ or something?

10 years ago my friend and lover left me for a girl he'd known in highschool. He called and ended our relationship of two years over the phone. I was devasted and couldn't function for months. After a year, I moved out west and rebuilt my life. Meanwhile, he married that girl. I eventually made my way back to my home town about 4 years ago now. On New Year's Day he called me - he had finally gotten ahold of my number. He had been looking for me for the past couple of years since he left his now ex-wife. He tells me he has always loved me. He still had the ring he had given me years ago. He still had some of my things. I have always loved him. He is my sole mate. Things have been going well for us - too well. And now the past is haunting me - I trust him, I always did - I'm just so afraid of losing him again and suffering through what I did all those years ago. Is it possible that a relationship can work after all that has happened? Are happy endings possible?

If you and your boyfriend had been dating 5-6 years and he proposed to you and all, then stood up and told you it was a joke after you got all excited, how would you feel? What would you do?
This can be for both men and women.

I dated an Indian guy for almost 2 years. Before me, he was with an Indian girl who loved him like anything. He promised her and her family marriage, had sex with her, and then came to the U.S. and cheated on her a lot. She never knew the truth about what he did, and he made her think that everything was all her fault. The poor girl still cries for him years later.

After I had been with him for almost 2 years, I found out he was a cheater and how he would meet girls online, become friends with them and fly to see them for the weekend for sex. He's been doing this for years. I'm the only one who knows. His family has no idea. They arranged a marriage for him at the end of this year, and I don't want him to get married! He doesn't deserve it. He's already hurt enough women in his life.

What should I do? I could write a letter to his parents but I don't want to hurt them. They didn't do anything wrong. But I think they are the only people he might listen to. Please help.

Here's the details:
- Caught my wife of 7 years cheating on me with a guy she met in her college accounting classes.
- No kids
- We rent an apartment.

Problem is, when I marry again, I will probably buy a house. If she's a gold-digger again, can having a pre-nup agreement prevent her getting 1/2 the house, or should I just rent a house for the first 10 years of marriage, till I'm sure everything's safe?
Also, should I open an offshore account for my investments?

My ex is SO DARN angry that she's getting ONLY $50,000 and a brand new car! She says that "its less than minimum wage!" (What? she thought of our marriage as a job?).

Now you may ask: why am I so generous? The fact is, she's turned into a crabby angry lady and gets fired from every job she gets. She's REALLY going to need this $50g to live on between jobs. Also, because I sponsored her to immigrate to Canada, I'm responsible for 10 years, so $50g+car for 3 more years of support seems fair to me.
Pre-Nup?

Just to clarify, I love my fiance. I want to marry him... but the wedding itself has turned into a monster and I hate it. Every aspect of it seems to evoke some sort of crappy opinion from one person or another... and my intended has the uncanny ability to come up with an opinion weeks after I have asked him for one and made a decision because his first answer was "I don't know... do what you want."

The moral of this story is that I'm starting to feel really guilty about having the desire to just stop planning and maybe not even have the stupid wedding and I just wanted to see if anyone else had felt this way...
