Family & Relationships - 17 February 2007

Background.... My wife left me after 6 years, because we were not happy, and she needed to go "find herself". We have two children 1 and 4. She moved in with her mom. After a being seperated we are trying to have a relationship again, without moving in together.

MIA said "what is the point of being seperated", if you spend all your free time together. She refuses to let me sleep at her house, she has negative reaction every time we act like, more than freinds. She uses babysitting the children as tool control the time spent together.

My wife tries to tell the MIA the way we(wife and I) feel towards each other and the situation. She will not accept it, and we are not ready to move in together. How do we try to begin a relationship, if she refuses to accept it? My wife is caught in the middle and she is seeking counselling in regaurds to her mom and the seperation.

Is there anything I can do, besides support my wife and respect her mom, although it is onesided

A close friend of mine has just found out his girlfriend has been cheating on him for the last few months. They have only been in their new home a few weeks, they also have a child together.

Advice needed for UK please.

What can he do about the mortgage? Its joint and he cannot afford it on his own. As far as I know, they have signed for 2 years. Will they be penalised for selling up only a month into it?

Any other useful advice or links much appriciated!

So my mom and dad have been together for 12 years now, and today is my birthday. So my mom thought at my step-sister's track meet, she thought her friends were giving her dirty looks, when they weren't. She was acting weird, I think she was drunk. My mom was (maybe is) an acholic, and has been to jail twice and rehab twice in the past 3 years. So my older sister and her boyfriend stole some of his (my sister's bf's) mom's purses. So my sister went kinda wacko. And that is when this started. My mom went wacko too. So she is saying, "You can't share your father! Your sister is jealous that I am with your father!" And such, I know my sister is fine with it, and she says she wouldn't want her mom and our dad to ever get back together in the first place. My mom is acting drunk, and we are thinking she is. She is blaming everything on my step sister's mom. Why they argue, etc. Sometimes it's true, other times it isn't. I am worried, my mom took off today, and wants to go to Georgia.

I am 13 years old and my mom thinks I need to wear makeup! I keep telling her that I don't want to wear it, but she is constantly telling me to put on some blush, or lipstick. Its driving me crazy and it makes me feel bad, like I really, really need makeup to not scare anyone...ya know.

So how can I explain to her politely that I think I look ok and that her telling me to wear makeup makes me feel bad??

I'm 16 years old and I haven't lived with my mother in nearly two years since she threw me out during an argument. She comes over almost everyday to use my computer because she doesn't want to pay for the internet at her own house. When she comes over, I have to babysit her or else she goes through everything.
Today she came over without giving me any notice, and I was in the middle of getting ready to go out. I couldn't get ready and babysit her at the same time, so I put everything on hold for two hours to let her do "research". After two hours, I told her she needed to leave so I could continue getting ready. She wouldn't leave, so we got into an argument and I almost called my dad to come home and make her leave. Finally, she left after saying, "Fine- I disown you, you disown me. Don't come to my house. Anything you have left there, your father can come pick it up, or the garbage men."

My question: Was it wrong for me to ask her to leave? How should I have handled it?

Me and my girlfriend have been going out for 3-4 weeks now but i cant have any time to myself without her calling me every 5 minutes. Just the other day she called me a total of 27 times. And every time i have to go home she always beggs me for like 5 minutes straight and then she saiys "Fine. Whatever. Bye." and slams the door of my car like its my fault or something. And on top of that, she asks me how much i like her everyday.

I don't really mind him going online and chatting but last night he was chatting with some women. I looked at what they were talking about and it wasn't anything that I should worry about but I'm just bothered by it. Another thing, he is also ok about me even meeting other men.
