Apparently this is traditional at weddings for my future son-in-law's family, but I've never heard of it, and can't find it online.

Any input would be appreciated.

okay here is the situation. my husband and i have been together for 15 years, and all that time my mother (adopted mother) has hated my husband. she went for 4 years without seeing our daughter. my brother calls and says he and mom are coming to visit. i say okay. they come. visit goes well. she leaves. then my brother informs me that she had told him that my children were in dire straights and they had to come check things out. of course there was nothing wrong with children. 6months later she starts saying crazy things about my husband and i. that our children are abused and not developing properly. then the day she finds out i missed carried sends me letters demanding prompt attention the problem with my children, or she will see that they are taken away. then on my daughters birthday she leaves a message on the answering machine accusing my husband of molesting our daughter. of course not true. she says she in't going to stop until we are both in jail. how do we deal with her.

ok, so i like this guy hu ill call...mark...and apparently, he liked me 2(or so people said)...well, he went out w/my BFF(no hard feelings between us, we're good) anyways, he broke up w/her a week later. but anyways, thats just some background. we're really good friends now, and hes really nice 2 me and stuff. hes lots of fun 2 b w/ and i still like him. well, 1 day i wuz talking about 1 of my guy friends in front of him, and he got all jealous and stuff it wuz really funny. and after that, he asked me 2 g2 the computer lab w/him and he never asks any1 else..i wuz the only 1 he asked except for his best friend. all his friends dont even have a clue of wut hes doing. (hes writing music, its really cool) anyways, that made me feel really special, of course. but wut i want 2 kno is, do u think he likes me? thanx if ur answering this!!!
oh, btw, we're 13.

when my father died last year me and my wife went to europe and attended the funeral. yesterday we received a news thet her father died, and my wife assumed that I am coming with her to south africa to attend the funeral. is it fair if wont go? i mean it my first month on my new job, and I dont have money right now! but im sure that it create some friction between my wife if i wont go with her...

me and my gf of 8 yrs just broke up again.We had a 3 month break about 6 months ago because we both needed to work some stuff out alone.Then, 4 days ago she broke it off again because she says she just cant give me what i want and feels she will regret not been able to do things such as some overseas travel before settling down.She told me she still loves me and i am the best guy in the world (hmmm but she left me!).I know for sure she is not looking for other love and that she just needs no ties and time to be alone.I got this strange feeling that when we broke up she was going to ask me to be patient as she just needs time but I told her i didnt want any contact with her so that i could move on.I said this more as a scare tactic and kind of regret saying it even though it was probably the right thing to say.She goes overseas in 2 weeks and i am worried we wont ever talk again, should i call her or hope that maybe she comes back to me?I really love her and just want to be with her.

I have been dating this guy for about 4 months and just lately we have become serious and are seeing only each other. I am in my mid 30's and he is in his early 40's so we are beyond the mushy gushy stuff. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to get him that is reasonably priced without looking dorky? I am already making him a 'manly' type card but I need something to go with it. Stuffed animals are cute, but we are, in my opinion, getting too old for that stuff. Any suggestions?

I come from a military background. I am used to figures of my family being overseas and elsewhere. I love families that are apart and still have the desire to want to be together. Military life can be very rewarding. Jim is going to be a Navy Seal. He tells me that he thinks that I deserve a man that is going to be around for things. BUT, the way I see it is this... I love him, and I want to do this, no matter what the circumstance. I am one of those women that can handle this kind of pressure and it excites me. I am very proud of him and want him to succeed. But, I also need to know what I need to do to assure him down the road that I will not cheat and that I will forever be supportive of his decisions? Do I insist? Do I lay off for a while and keep in touch and then gradually show MORE interest. He already knows how I feel and he said that he's willing to go against the odds for me... but he thinks that I will not like it. What do I do? I am going to do this, how do i?

I've been with my bf for 5 months, and I can't get enough of him. The thing is, I'm leaving in a few weeks for a competion...11 hours away...for a week. I know it doesn't sound far or long, but I'm gonna miss him. it's strange, I always have to have my arms around my boyfriend, I always have to be with him. He says that I'm not clingy but for some reason it feels like I am. I don't know how I'm gonna be able to survive that week without him being next to me. my step mom says that she will either file a divorce or we have to move...
i am not ready to move at all....i am in love with my house and i cant bear to leave it, or my neighborhood,

she is the type of woman who has my father whipped and will do ANY thing to get every single cent and object from my dad if she gets a divorce. she will make our lives a living hell. She is the most belligerent old hag i have ever met. Everything she says offends me, becuase she is so opinionated and she has run us into debt and depression. Everything I do or say isnt right and she continuously finds my faults.
The house she wants to move into is less than 100 yards away...and its uglier, and no smaller. she wants to be closer to the lake, but it is in fact farther from it.
I really do not want to lose my home, i love it to death. My mom already moved across the country and i had to abandon that place i loved too. I am still not over it...
How can i deal with this situation.it makes no sense to me
