Right now, the only way she is seeing you and her in a relationship is like you said, family. But you want a romantic relationship. So try it. Lean your hangouts a little more romantic. Be careful though- you don't want her to think you like her... it could ruin your friendship. On Valentine's Day bring her flowers and say "to my sister" but look into her eyes deeply. If you don't get any signs back, forget about it. It's not worth ruining the friendship for something more if she doens't feel the same way. If you want you can ask her, but it will make it even more difficult to go back to where you were.

You have to tell her how you really feel about her. Make sure that it is not in front of the whole lunch room as that may lead to embarrassment for one or both of you. You can't really lose if you are honest and true with her. The worst thing that could happen, is that she will tell you that she doesn't have feelings for you and that she just wants to be friends(It's not the worst thing she could do, but I'm assuming that this is a nice girl, who isn't a *****...so we'll assume the best)
You will feel better about yourself, if you get this off your chest and maybe, she feels the same way about you.

do something for her that shows your are serious about a relationship other than friendship.. write a letter or something.. send her flowers & a teddy for Valentine Day.. be romantic... then ask her out to dinner or the movies, explain that you wouls like a chance to be with her other than as a friend and that if it doesnt work out that at least you both will know, and continue being great friends... but this time without the mixed feeling!!!

If she likes you she will come to you when she is ready. You don't want to sound pushy. If she sees you like a brother it may be awkward for her and it may be the end of a good friendship. So you may lose her entirely if you date and it doesn't work out. So in my opinion, for now, just be happy you have her in your life as a friend. It is better to have her as a friend as nothing at all....good luck.

Trust me when I say this: If she thinks of you as a brother, and you all get along really good, DO NOT date! It will ruin everything. Stay friends and be thankful you have her as a friend. Good friends are hard to come by these days!

You're a freaking freshman in highschool; you shouldn't worry about dating. Besides, high school relationships end eventually. Only 35% survive and I doubt yours will.

when you talk to her for now on, just be more flirty, and look her in the eyes more, let her know (without coing out and saying it) that you like her as more than a friend

i would just have to say that you should tell her how you feel. you would never know maybe she likes you to but doesnt want you to know because she doesnt want to lose the friendship that you both already have. so just talk to her and see how it goes.
