You just do. You fall in love with someone and don't even realize it until something happens that causes you to realize that you're in love. In the past, other people have observed how I felt about the guy I was in love with and asked me if that was the case, and until they brought it up, I had no idea that I felt that strongly for him.
Sometimes you find yourself thinking about all the characteristics about the person you like and realize that you're in love with them. In my current situation, I hadn't even thought about the possibility of falling in love with this guy, but then I had a dream where he almost died and I had been so worried about him and I was so glad to see that he was still alive, and in my dream I told him I loved him. When I woke up, I realized that, holy crap, I really do.
It's just something you don't notice at first, but when it happens you know. You can't force it.

You don't at first. You're just going on with your life like you normally would and then it hits you. You realize that everything is great and you feel good. Your mind, heart, body all feel great together. The person you love is with you no matter what you do, they're on your mind and in your heart.

There will be a feeling that you don't feel when you're with other people. You can't explain how you will feel when you're in love all you can really say it is something you have never felt before!

How do I know when it's love?
I can't tell you but it lasts forever
Oh! How does it feel when it's love?
It's just somethin' you feel together
When it's love

You look at every face in a crowd
Some shine and some keep you guessin'
Waiting for someone to come into focus
Teach you your final love lesson

Yeah, you can feel it
Oh, when it's love
When nothin's missing,

How do I know when it's love?
I can't tell you but it lasts forever
Ooh, how does it feel when it' love?
It's just something you feel together, hey!

Well. When you wish for the best things to happen to that person. When you will give of yourself for that person. When you pray for that person to get what they want. When you make that person a healthy center of your life. Then you love that person. Oh did I mention that you can't want anything for yourself from that person?

You feel it in your gut. Imagining your life without them is a miserable concept and their needs become (almost) as important as your own.
