I'm getting married at our local courthouse. It will just be me and my fiance. And his mom as our witness.
There won't be a big ceremony either. We'll probably go out and eat and that's about it.
We're planning our big wedding for next year (2008).

I haven't bought my dress yet. And i am not planning on buying a big expensive wedding gown. I want something simple like a white or ivory prom dress, evening gown or social dress. Doesn't really matter what it's called.

But i was wondering if it would be ok if i go pick out a dress with my fiance. Since it won't be a traditional wedding anyway....

So how come they dont like to show how they feel? And instead of talking things out maturity the hide away and act all hard *** about it? And why do they always say "I dont know"? WHAT DONT YOU KNOW? And even if you hang out everyday..they tell their true feelings not to your face? And why do they tell you that you are their problems, so they leave you, then come whining back with how much you are their life? so then you tell him you need a break..then he gets upset..k woah big mistake..with your attitude i thought would understand..so then he uses it against you? and ignores your for a month.. like what does this mean?

My Fiance asked for his ring back yesterday. He said he was joking and gave it back to me, but the reason he gave for asking for it back, is because I remind him of his ex wife? The reason we got in a fight was because I let him win a game of darts, because he always loses and pouts when he doesn't win. I guess I reminded him of his ex wife because I didn't want to, you know....Last night. I guess I always thought I have a right to not do that every once and a while. I guess it is just frustrating, do you think this is a sign of what is to come?

My friend has been with her husband for a total of 2 years, and has been miserable since day one. In fact 3 months ago she asked him officially for a divorce but changed her mind because her "vows before God."

She is 24 and found out me and her other good friend are pregnant. She was very jealous and said she wanted a baby too. So she purposely got pregnant even though her marriage is rocky at best.

I am so frustrated with her and her selfish actions. I almost want to cut her off! She causes so many problems in her own life by being an immature brat and it stresses me out to hear about it all of the time.

Should I just distance myself from her? She told me she plans to take her baby with her to house parties and bars so they can drink with their friends.

I just don’t agree with her lifestyle or parenting skills. My husband refuses to hang out with them because of all their problems and fighting.

Is it time for me to move on from the friendship?

I'm very fond of this girl, and I really want to date her(now she's meeting another guy,but there is still nothing between them).I meet her almost every day at the university and we're talking еаch other a lot about various subjects(personal stuff too) and having a lot of fun together.I mean I can call her a friend of mine, although I know her slightly(since few months)and I don't want to loose her friendship...I just don't know what to do!I'm thinking about her all the time and I'm really confused...sometimes I'm trying just to forget about her,but It's impossible, because she's calling me,or I'm meeting her(almost)every day...I fear,if I ask her to date me,I'm going to loose her as a friend and I'd like to keep her friendship, because she's a great person and she's really nice to me.What do you think I have to do?

I have a chance to do it..I started talking to this dude on myspace who was on tv. He is hot and nice.
Anyway he wants to see me when he comes to town in a few months even though he has a serious girlfriend.

So, would you do it?

I mean, this is a once in a lifetime thing. To fool around with a hottie from tv.

My wife, who do you FEEL would be granted custody of the kids and keep the house:

We have been married for 10 years, 3 kids. In 10 years I have been the SOLE provider for our family. She has never held a job, has no high school, or GED or drivers license (this has been her choice, I have not held her back), although yes she would be entitled alimony, it is not enough to live off of with 3 kids.

She thinks the courts would give her everything because she is the woman. The reason for divorce would simply be growing apart or irreconcilable differences. In your honest opinion, who do you feel would get hit with the worst end of the stick here?

Generally when your in a relationship?

I always dated very bright, cool and successful guys, but they were never good looking. This one is. We just met recently and he acts as if he is interested. I am 5 years older than him and I am good looking but not as much as he is... he is just like a model - and very bright ( but not rich!)
Is there anything specific about dating these type. Are they like normal men or you have to treat them differently. And how do you know he isn't using his looks to get women i.e how do you know he isn't a player?

A lot of people say that living together before marriage prepares you and makes sure that you are completely compatible before making promises you may not be able to keep. This is my BF's position. I think, though, that you should date long enough to know how that person is without having to live together - and that living together in an intentionally temporary situation is not an accurate representation of marriage, which is (supposed to be) a permanent situation. It's just not the same thing.

So what should we do? This argument causes strife between us, as we are starting to talk about marriage as a possibility for our future. Is it fair for me to put my foot down and refuse under any circumstance or should I relent? I know my family would never, ever accept my living with someone outside of marriage, and I am a virgin with no intention of changing that before I'm married, and he's totally fine with that. How can we resolve this?

I recently met my long lost friend. She just broke up with her
boyfriend as soon as I walked into the picture. And she
even changed her website profile, to single status. The exact
same day, I sent her an email, expressing myself to her.
She got awat from her" psycho" boyfriend, and is ready to dive
into another relationship. What do you think ? Us meeting is
destiny, or was she waitng for me ? Best answer wins.

I have lived on my own (well with my boyfriend) for almost 3 years. We lived close to my parents and they always tried to run my life (tell me their opinion about EVERYTHING and expect me to do what they said or thought). I moved away (with my boyfriend) and it got better but now a year later we are moving back and my parents are trying to run my life again. What do I do? (example I told them we were getting a vehicle and they said that we couldn't afford it and it was a bad idea and haven't said anything since as they expect me to listen and not get one but my boyfriend won't be able to get home from work without one as bus doesn't run that late). Any suggestions?
