Now bearing in mind that this is not my own perspective but one that has been discussed by a black man and woman in my office.

Are black women higher maintenance than their white counterparts? Do they expect, and ask for more from their boyfriends than white girls?

I broke up with my ex-bf 3yrs ago right after high school, I was young and just wanted to experience something new. I ran into him last year around Christmas time and fell right back in love. He had a g/f at the time but left her for me because he says he was waiting for me all those years and couldnt wait to be with me again. I didnt know he had a g/f until after we spent a few days together. Then he went back and forth (he says he couldnt just leave her that way) and finally said he just wants to be single but when he is ready to settle down I will be the one he wants to be with. He still tells me he loves me and doesnt want to lose me again but we can only be friends. He just txt me while I am typing this.

Everyone tells me he is probably afraid of getting hurt again or maybe he is just having problems in his life right now!

I need some answers from men please! I am a strong person and I can move on, but I'm afraid that I might miss my chance with him.

My wife is a professional , Teacher , Counselor , Degreesand Certificates for days,
And yet she chose to be with me , I barely make ends meet working construction, side jobs, whatever it takes. we have a home , truck etc,etc.
But i love her more than life itself. which is just part of the reason i get up and go to work in 22 degree weather.

But here is when she says, I Love you most because I see Jesus in you.

I had an issue with trust in the first six months of my relationship when we were first getting to know each other (3 yrs ago) He had been talking to a girl from his childhood catching up and ended up talking to her a lot and almost went on a date with her until I found out He swore he wanted to be with me, he was sorry, he never talked to the other girl again A year later yet another girl from his past called him up, they talked for about a month until I found out. This girl was even dating his cousin so I know it was nothing romantic but he just hid it from me He says he didnt tell me because he thinks I would over-react In June he had an accident and so he goes to the dr weekly. During this time he would tell me all the girls there thought he was cute, we laughed about it. One of the girls quit working there, gave him her number, I found out today that they have been talking on the phone a lot over the past month, with her believing he was single! Should I end it bc of this?

I have made a decision not to date until I have finished my studies. Too many of friends got hurt being in a relationship and too many had to dump the studies - first reason.

My one friend told me that sometimes a person needs to get out of his/her shell and live.

The thing is that I don't think I am ready for this type of stuff - second reason.

I believe that one can have fun being single as well. Am I wrong living this way?

okay so i've been going out with this girl for about 8 months. she went on this senior (highschool) retreat thing to Kairos and i was afraid she'd come back "changed" because everyone does. well, she promised me she loved me and nothing bad would happen.. when she came back, she claimed to be "changed" and broke up with me. (keep in mind we were crazy in love for about 7 months. we had our fights and problems but always worked them out). so i was freaked and cried and called my friends and stuff. but then the next night she called me and told me she didn't mean it. since then she's been like that. but she tells me she WANTS me to win her back. i keep messing up somehow.. and she keeps calling me everynight telling me she loves me and just to talk to me for hours. but she never talks to me during the day or comes over like she used to. and like she's really mean to me sometimes. and others all she wants to do is talk to me. like, is this worth it? honestly where do i go from here?

I'm really so confused..can anyone help?i have been hesitating to pass this note to this guy whom i've seen for quite some time..but everyone around me told me that i deserve better and that i shouldn't stoop so low for that guy who isn't even worthy of my attention..but i beg to differ..i feel that even though he doesn't look very friendly..i have this special feeling towards him..a very warm and secure feeling. my sister said that why, as a girl, must i reach that stage of passing a guy my number when i'm not short of suitors..true, i'm not short of suitors but what i'm afraid here is as a girl,i don't have the courage to do so and everytime when i've made up my mind to do it,many other negative thoughts will come in and make me change my mind again.and i'm afraid that if he doesn't respond,my sis will say that i shouldn't have done it and have lost "face" now and making myself sad..i tried following my heart but it's just as confused!

I know it sounds real shallow (because it is) but I really like my guy friend and I can't stop dreaming about him, and we talk non-stop but he annoys my friends so much that they constantly talk about him. After meeting the wrong girls in the past I have really started to get to know someone, its strange becasue my head is all for her and my heart is trying to hold back. It's been hurt recently and don't want to fall into the same trap. She asked me not to tard her with the same brush and I am really trying not to. Which one is right and how can i line them both up?

Ps I have never met her in the flesh but in tend to, we speak on the phone regular and have now for 3 months, we seam to get on really well and the more i speak to her the closer I get.

I've always been the 'good girl' all my life. Now, I'm regreting it!! I'm over 30, and a doctor by profession...married to a doctor who's cheated on me!! I have never been with anyone else other than my current husband!
Looking back, I wish I made more mistakes in my life so that I could learn from them. I sometimes think about cheating or other bad things just to get over this 'goody two shoes' stigma!!!
Does anyone understand where I'm coming from or am I just a confused soul??

I don't think it is fair because she has a problem with my son who she is no longer dating that she take it out on me. My son is providing child support she is angry about the amount set by the judge she wanted more. She has moved and I don't have an address nor home phone number for her. And when she wants to vacation and be child free she will call and say he can come over. Would anyone know if grandparents can file for visitation rights of the grandchildren in North Carolina and if so what is the process. I have over $500.00 worth of christmas gifts that I was going to take to my grandson today and was told that I would not see my grandson just drop the gifts off with the other grandmother. I declined that offer and said that if I could not see my grandson then sadly he would not get his gifts. I don't think that I am being unreasonable just tired of taking whatever has been dished out to me about my grandson. Please help a Native New Yorker grandmother know her rights folks.
