Black Vs white.......?

Question

Now bearing in mind that this is not my own perspective but one that has been discussed by a black man and woman in my office.

Are black women higher maintenance than their white counterparts? Do they expect, and ask for more from their boyfriends than white girls?

Oh boy! I have been waiting for oh so long to give my thoughts on this very subject.

Here it goes. I don't view it so much as high maintenance. I think its more of a economical view point. You see by far Caucasian women are usually brought up in a higher economical bracket. That's not to say all but it is far more than less. So being in this higher bracket gives them more access to money and things of the higher living as deemed by society. African American in comparison usually fall in the lower economical bracket. This in turn causes them to long for the things that they don't naturally have. So as these group of women grow older this position in the world shapes them into the women they will become. As a result Caucasian women tend to not focus much on the things they already have. Were as African American women focus more on things of a material nature because the had not those things but now desire them. You know the old saying the haves want not and the wants have not.

One must also take into account the increase in single family homes. I can really only speak as it relates to African American families as it relates to this subject so as to not offend anyone with my lack of knowledge on Caucasian families. I have come to see that African American women today have mostly been reared in single family homes. As a result most of their learned behaviors as it relates to men is some what off base. A lot of them are raised with the concept that they can do without a man. This may very well be true. We all can do without the opposite sex but we are much better working together as a unit. This decreased need for males leads to a total breakdown of the view of men. Because we are of no use emotionally we are valued for the one thing we have in superiority over women and that is salary. That's right money but even that is beginning to change. More and more women are becoming equal to men and more and more our value will decrease.

But for me this is more scary than anything. With the increased emphasis on money and bling we will find many more African American males looking for the quick buck. You see African American women want more from her male counterparts but has yet to realize that society has not given them more. So they ask for and desire for things that a lot of us can't supply. So what do we do? Well some of us resort to hustling, while others go to school to get a better education, others resort to crime, and some just do nothing. You see for Caucasian women men are viewed as partners and in African American women men are usually viewed as a tool.

So while Caucasian women are happy to have a guy that just pays attention to them. African American women are usually consumed with how are we going to be living.

You ever wonder why a lot of African American men that are wealthy tend to be married to or dating Caucasian women. I will answer this based on my life. It is because when I had nothing African American women didn't give me the time of day, but now that I have they are everywhere. I have always had more success with Caucasian women than with my own . And it's all because most Caucasian women have money. Maybe not by work cause they have parents that have it, or they work but are use tohaving it, or maybe they see that money does not make the person so they don't need mine but what they do need is a guy that is gonna make them laugh, cuddle them, and be a gentleman.

It's been my experience that women are different no matter what color they are. You will find that there are black women who are high maintenance and there are white women who are high maintenance. It's not a color issue at all. Some black women need to expect more from their guy because of how they treat women. Most white women have to expect more from their guy because of the same reason. If you want to make it a color issue, then go ahead. It's simply the way some women are and the rest aren't. You should pay more attention to your work and less of that what's being said around you. You may think that i sayin this because I'm black but I'm not! Yes some black girls are out there just for the money and what guys can buy for them but then again so is some of the white chicks too. But me personal yes I like to have nice things given to me by a guy once and a while. So what, that does not mean i ask for more than what a white chick may a ask for.

Don't want anyone to take this the wrong way, but I've dated a few black men and from my experience, I think black women have far too much attitude, they demand far too much. I think a woman shouldn't have too much attitude because that's not what makes a woman feminine and is an indication of insecurity. It's not like white women put up with more, they just would prefer to sit back and observe their man's behaviour rather than diving in to give him a mouthful. Although not all black women are like this, they are normally portrayed in this light by the media i.e. Ricki Lake!. xx

to be sincere yes, im a black woman and im not against. the truth is based on our culture. a woman should be dependent of a man. but black women know how to keep a relationship and longer than white women. that is there are few cases of divorse in black community than in white community.

I am basing my answer on a friend of mine who is African American. He said on many occasions, that he would never date an African American woman because they are high maintenance. I have heard this comment as well. However, I don't think you can base it solely on someones race. I think some women in general are high maintenance and it could be based on how they were raised.

Women are all different. I am white and my wife is black. She is low maintenence, however I have dated a lot fo black women who were high maint. and a lot that were not. I can't speak on white women but i'm sure its the same with them.

BLACK FEMALES HAVE A DEEP SEATED INFERIORITY COMPLEX FROM NO FATHER IN THE HOME.THEY GET THEIR FIRST SENSE OF 'SELF' FROM THEIR FRIENDS WHO ARE FROM THE SAME ENVIROMENT, THEY REQUIRE HIGH MAINTENANCE TO COMPENSATE FOR THIS.I.E. USUALLY WHITE GIRLS JUST BRUSH THEIR HAIR AND GO OUT--BUT BLACK GIRLS SPEND A FORTUNE ON THEIR HAIR AND CLOTHES.NOW THIS IS GENERALLY SPEAKING OF COURSE, BUT IT HOLDS MUCH WATER. i think u r right, that's why my observation is that Black man prefer white woman as a girl friend but when they are serious about marriage they prefer black women from there community. I don't know why though...........
