My girlfriend and I work in the same building and often spend the night together. Even when we go to bed early it is very difficult to get up in the morning. Any suggestions (other than don't spend the night together) on how we can more easily get out of bed on time in the morning?

I dont know about anyone else, but the smell of fresh coffee in the morning really perks up my senses. Get a coffee pot that has a clock on it where you can set it to turn on at a certain time. The smell is VERY theraputic for me. Good luck

I use 2 alarms and usually 1 is set 1 hour before I am supposed to get ready that way you are officially awake to sleep an extra 15 minutes. Make sure that when the alarm goes off that your lady also wakes up just enough that during those 15 minutes of sleep for you she is aware that it is almost time to wake up and she will be wanting to get some before it is too late and trust me, she will make sure you get up on time. Yeah, it's personal advice from my life experiences. Everyone knows it as morning sex and the more of it you have the better. Just try to not overdue it because then she will start saying that she is hurting and your slugging percentage may eventually drop. So I suggest about 2 or 3 weeknights to go 3 rounds each night, say around 12 am, 2:30 am get yourself a quickie which is always good for your heart, and then a " hey how you been" love session after your 15 minute snooze time. That will give you at least 30 minutes to get a good sweat in the morning and then you will have to take your morning shower and you are awake now. Just like magic!!!

Dude, coffee...

I hate getting up early but I have to, regardless of when I go to bed.

First thing, don't linger in bed. When the alarm goes off force yourself to get up. The key is get up and start moving. Don't hit the snooze button, you will only make it worse for yourself.

Do a quick 15 minute cardio workout (you don't have to but it helps) (morning nookie works too.)

Take a hot shower.

Have some coffee.

Eat a good breakfast - not a lot of sugar. Like oatmeal, eggs, etc. or a good cereal.

Make sure you drink enough water throughout the day. It does make a difference. Avoid caffeine and heavy meals after 6pm or so. Don't drink alcohol late at night. Contrary to popular belief, it does not help you get restful sleep.

If you snore a lot you might want to check to see if you have sleep apnea. Lack of oxygen during sleep hinders restful sleep and is harmful to your health.

All in all, make sure you get at least 8hrs of sleep. If you are going to be doing any bed gymnastics then go to bed earlier...

If you still have problem, see a doctor since there may be a medical reason why you feel so tired.

Set the alarm 30 min earlier. Then get up at that time and spend 30 min in bed together, talking or whatever else. Then it's not like you're running out of bed in the morning.

Set a routine that makes it easier to want to get out of bed - I'd suggest morning sex in the shower, but maybe your solution is an automatic coffee maker with timer set for 6 AM.

if you need to get up at the same time then use ALARMS. like one hour early so you will have to get up and then you wont be late cause you will be awoke and know that you have to get up and will have time for the "just 15 more minutes". plus ease up the night before every night that you spend together doesnt have to a triathlon.

Have your "alone time" before you go to sleep.
so that way when the alarm goes off in the morning, you both just get out of bed and get ready for work.

Quit the job. Become the next Yoko Ono and John Lennon. That way your so famous you can make just as much, if not more, progress from your very own bed.

Get a REALLY loud alarm clock and set it in the opposite side of the room so that you will HAVE to get up and turn it off. By this time your adrenaline will be pumping so hard that you won't be sleepy anymore.
