Recently I moved to a new city. I also found out that my Uncle and cousins are working in this city (some live here, some fly back and forth every week from another big city). I've only meet them once in my adult life (a few years ago at one of their weddings). They are nice but upper class. They talk about art, culture, their private schools and jobs like it some secret code. (Between the parents and four kids, they are all either lawyers, doctors, and investment bankers). I went to a public university and have some work overseas, but nothing on par with them. I am actualy unemployed right now and have a liberal arts degree. I already feel inadequate and laim. They want to get together but I'm really nervous and feel pressure to come up with interesting topics. I never care with strangers but since its family it is getting to me. How can i behave and make myself chill. I'm not concerned with impressing them but do want them to like me. Help!

I'm a young, single mom with no support network. I've lived in Chicago all of my life but I don't know that many pple and I'm definitely not close to them. I know I'm disliked by many. I have low self esteem because of this and the mistakes I made in the past. I really think I'll be happy if I move somewhere else and start over.

Well, I was recently accepted into a journalism program in California. I really want to go b/c I want to be a journalist. I'm also sick of the bitter cold weather where I live. I'm so unhappy about my situation and doing a job I don't enjoy.

The program starts in 3 months. Unfortunately, I don't have any money & I still haven't found an affordable place to live. I can't even get pple to buy my things. I would have to go with my child b/c my mother (my only family besides my dad) and I aren't on speaking terms.

Is it true that even if I move out of state and never see the people I know ever again, I'll still have the same problems/experiences?

My wife and I are married for about 2 years now, we have been together for 8 years total. We both have started going to bible study since may. recently she has not been wanting to have sex. because she doesnt feel its right. she says we were not married in god there for untill we go through christian marrage counsoling and are married into gods eyes she doesnt want to have sex. my ex cheated on me last year,but we decided to give it another go,it didn't work out,and towards the end we were more like friends than husband and wife, so we split again 3 months ago and i have filed for divorce.He's since admitted to another woman last year besides the one i already know about,and i have reason to believe he was sleeping with someone else just before we split.He is still seeing her and my ex has already introduced our son to her,which bothers me a bit.But despite all that we have remained quite friendly,and when he comes to pick up our son for the weekend i often invite him in for a cuppa,and we talk on the phone quite a lot as well.All my friends think i should be angrier and that i should hate him,but i don't hate him,and i'm really not sure if i love him anymore either.i do care about him,but i guess that's only natural after 10 years together.is this normal? am in denial? will i suddenly wake up one day and feel angry?

I have been with him like 14 months...Today i saw him, and i told him lets go and eat at a restaurant, and guess what he didnt even split the bill, i had to pay the majority, and he even made me pay for dessert and didnt even eat it all!

Last week he did the same thing, i had to pay the bill and then he felt guilty AFTER the restaurant and offered to give me some money.

Its like he dont bother, he doesnt ever want to make me feel special, i feel like he just takes advantage of me.

im 20, im a student, even though my family is quite wealthy, he thinks that i am. Hes 25 and he works.

I even pick him up in my car, he doesnt drive his OWN car, hes drove it TWICE out of the whole time we have been together. He doesnt offer to pay for the petrol/gas in my car just because my family pays for it..

He doesnt even top up his phone and ring me often, i run up my phone bills!

I know he loves me but WHAT SHALL I DO!?

My ex b/f was really upset when we broke up, but what he said really hurt and I left him standing there.
A month later(yesterday) he sent me an e-mail with a list of everything he did wrong. Even little things like his shoe was untied on such and such date. He says he misses me and thinks of me 24/7. I miss him and feel horrible. I want to take him back. Is this all a trap to get me to take him back?? Do I respond??
We were together for two years. He says he did so much wrong(really only a few major things) that he wishes he could go back and fix them.
He really feels bad and I want to take him back but my friend says that boys use this to trick girls into taking them back.
I loved him, he loved me, and we had a gr8 relationship. We went thru the trama of me being raped, him losing family, and the joys of our relationship. We broke up b/c my friend told me he was cheating but after I found out he wasn't.

My husband and i have been married for 7 years. We used to be in head-over-heels-love. But within the last year, he has started to sasy awful things to me. He has threatened to stick a bat up my... (well.. you know.) during sex. And he keeps on talking about that if he was our daughter's age, he would want to have sex with her. This is not my husband at all... he never used to be this way.

Two months ago, he started.. just barely, slapping my face (playfully) during sex. But now he is hitting me full on.. across the face, blows to the stomach, and It's not just me I'm worried about. My daughter, who is 15, has changed. She has gotten very quiet, and she is usually an outgoing girl. I'm afraid that he has done something to her.

Problem is, I don't have alot of money. I can't hire a lawer, and I can't divorce him because he provides most of the income. What do I do? He used to be the best husband, father, and lover. Now, I don't know what to do. Help!

I may have touch of OCD around my cutlery but when i eat I much rather not use cutlery that is old fashioned, too ornamental or bulbous on one end and bulky in any way ...too petit or small if not good either

I hang out with people of a different ethnicity and so the situation occurs quite often. I've been in a car with two friends who started speaking in their native tongue to each other, all the while I'm completely out of the conversation. When I ask about the conversation they provide a cursory answer and stop talking altogether. It's like they're annoyed I want to be part of the discussion.

What's worse is when we're hanging out and they sort of make quick statements to each other in their native language, look at me, and snicker. When I ask what's up they reply with a "Oh, it's nothing."

To me it seems rude and makes people feel estranged and uninterested in what's going on. Not to mention how crappy it feels knowing people don't care how you feel or don't want to act considerate towards you.

I have a very complicated life, but to make a long story short, the same family adopted my biological brother and me. It was very rough and I ended up having a very strained relationship with my parents and not even seeing my brother again until I was 21, when he came back from his 2nd tour in Iraq. He doesn’t talk to our parents at all but my relationship with my parents is now phenomenal. I planned on getting married this spring. I would like my father, who is a judge, to officiate the ceremony instead of walk me down the isle. I wanted my brother to walk down me down the isle. The problem I am having is that my brother is going back to Iraq (yeah the 3rd time) in January. It means so much to me to have my brother be apart of my wedding. I feel like I can’t get married without my brother being there. Is it wrong of me to postpone my wedding just for my big brother? Please help me sort out my feelings. (On a side note- instead of the traditional wedding march, I want to walk to Imagine by John Lennon, is that not an appropriate song for a wedding?)
