Atmospheric pressure.
At sea level the pressure is "1 Bar". That's about 15 pounds of pressure per square inch.
If I remember correctly 20 Bar equates to about 640ft below the water surface. 1 Bar Water = 32ft

Water resistance 20 bar means 20 meters
Bar meaning pressure. 1 meter producing 1 bar of pressure

Perhaps it's the level of water-resistance that the watch can withstand. Although, I'm not sure what this has to do with the Singles and Dating forum?
