She says that she trusts me, but that giving her control would be a sign of commitment. Part of me says give it a try, but another is not so sure and thinks that it is all very strange.

Suggestions?

i don't and it's because i don't believe love can be defined..there are so many meanings. be it commitment, a game, a deep friendship..passion.. i believe in the unconditional..the way i love my sister. first of all, i think it's just wrong to put love in between papers..saying "ok this is your mate for life"..it's a freaken CONTRACT!! i just don't believe you can put love in the papers..+second, what if that love between you fades away? you'll have to go through nasty divorce?? and the financer will have to pay to the other partner for the rest of his life untill they get married again..that's what my uncle has to do right now..he gave the car to my x aunt, and he's paying her now because she's not married.

and when it comes to weddings, it just makes me really upset to know, many more people..mostly girls (don't mean to stareotype) et excited, not by the idea of a contract together (marriage) but by the stupid 2 hr cerimony..for pete's sake! why waste so much $$ on that?

I sold the memoirs of my sex life to a publisher - they are going to make a board game out of it...does that seem odd to you?

If you want to make God laugh, tell him your future plans.

Personally, I would never send such a letter b/c I know someone serving in a war would have enough to worry about already. This letter appeared in Dear Abby yesterday (Oct. 25). What is your opinion?

Dear Abby by Abigail Van Buren

BREAKUP LETTER TO SOLDIER COULD JEOPARDIZE COMRADES IN ARMS

DEAR READERS: Yesterday I printed some of the feedback regarding my answer to "Feeling Guilty, Memphis, Tenn." after I urged her to wait until her serviceman fiance returned from Iraq before breaking their engagement. Today I will share more of them. Read on:
DEAR ABBY: I am a psychologist and served in Iraq running a combat stress-control clinic. I couldn't agree more with the answer you gave that young woman, and have wished for a forum in which to provide that exact advice.

Many of the soldiers we saw had exactly this problem -- Dear John letters, e-mails or phone conversations. I can't tell you how distracting the information was to them.

Is a relationship over when the challenge is gone?
I've read many men and women say "I did everything for husband/wife/GF/BF and then they cheated/left/divorce ...etc"
Then on the flip side I here that the spouse felt that they could do anything and the other person would just take it because they KNEW that their spouse loved them and would take it.

So is it that challenge of changing the other person what keeps a relationship alive?
If they give in completely you stop respecting them and emotionally move on to the next challenge?
If they are to stumborn to change you give for a less difficult challenge?

I think the key is to grow and change, but don't submit to your significant other.

I would love to here some feed back on this one.

Dear Everyone,

I am a Pakistani American; I have been raised and brought up in the states. I was never born in Pakistan. I am an only daughter w/two brothers. I have had 2 arranged marriages that ended up in a divorce. My first husband was a psychotic, possessive, abusive person. I was married roughly for about 31/2 years, the end result I have a daughter with him (which he has never seen once). He was deported back to Pakistan when I was expecting (I was 22 yrs old). I stayed single for about 3 years after my first marriage fell apart. My parents received another marriage proposal for me, this guy was completely single but needed a green card and manipulated my folks for my hand (so in short he took advantage of my situation), as soon as I figured him out (we totally slept in separate rooms). I cancelled his INS paperwork, shortly after he disappeared on me. Its not the case, that I cant get a guy on my own, I am not awful looking (I always get hits from guys) – it was just that I was a good daughter to my parents and felt obligated to fulfill their wishes. Now, I just turned 28 a couple weeks ago, and feel that I should have the remote control of my life from now on and forever. I am single and dating someone for the past 2 months, which who is Pakistani (born and raised here) he is divorced also w/3 children (he has joint custody). When we both met, we decided not to speak of our past at all (it was his choice to decide this, he wanted to get to know me for who I am, without making any judgments of the past) – he doesn’t know that I have been divorced twice, but, I feel obligated to tell him. I don’t consider my second marriage anything; it was more like a contract – never for once felt as a marriage. But, I still get this guilt that I should tell him this. We both are developing strong feelings, and I just don’t want to be hurt at the end – if he dislikes the fact that I have been married twice for whatever reason. Please help – should I wait and tell him or should I tell him now before things reallllly get serious, which they are beginning too.

I have strong suspicions that my wife is cheating and I have a pretty good idea who it is. Should I confront him alone and play like she told me everything? This would be a good way to confirm my suspicions.

i have a problem I am currently sort of dating like 5 girls right now, nothing too serious so i am not cheating. Although 1 of the girls I really enjoy being with and i think about her when i am not with her. But when i am with any of the others I completely forget about her. Even when she is on my mind I still cant resist flirting with other girls. I need to know a few things:
1. Do u think I really like her?
2. Why cant I resist the chance of meeting more women?

Is there any way, without paying for membership to a "people finder" site, to find ex husband who is WAY ($50,000) behind in child support? The case is through DHR, but they can't locate him either. Any ideas?

i've never been good with flirting, in fact, i'm so horrible at it, i can't say i've EVER flirted with a stranger or even someone familiar unless i've like, known them for a year or more and feel really comfortable with him...i furthermore don't think i need make up to validate my worth as a person (i'm quite intelligent, but i've yet to see a guy who desires a woman for her brains...? justin timberlake mocks the concept in one of his songs... erm, just wondering, cause i'm at the brink of divorce (from a guy who ought to not be with someone with a brain...) but i'm gonna have to start all this again i guess...groan? what would u do?

If so what was the outcome? Are you happy now?

I am a 50 year old female and have for the last 10 years or so fantasized so much about running away and starting a new life. I have not been happy with my marriage, and have separated and then gotten back together, just to be stuck in the same unhappy situation. Kids are grown (from 22 to 33) but 22 year old still lives at home, but does not appreciate it and does not respect me. I feel guilty about the idea, but it is so appealing to me. I don't have any money set aside, but I would have access to a lump sum payment if I quit my job, and some 401K money, if I needed it. My current husband is not happy, and I don't think he ever will be. He is dragging me down with his negative pessimistic outlook on life. I want to be happy for a while before I have to leave this earth but it is so scary and seems so selfish. What to do?
