At what point has the era of looking for characteristics vs looks, vanished? And why is there a sudden shift in a greater importance of looks when it's the characteristics that you will come to love or hate?

I have been with,my now ex because of what I did, for 4 years now and we have a one yr old son together. Two years ago I slept with his ex friend (they weren't friends @ the time). I just now told him and of course he said it's over. I don't know what to do to get him back. Or what to say to make it better. On top of that he keeps asking me to give him DETAILS...like how i kissed him and where and who started it and all that. What should I tell him and what should I leave out. HELP!!! I truely am sry for what I did I mean after I did what I did I didn't even contact this guy ever again...he happened to see my man and tell him this week so I just felt it was right to let the truth out...Please Help

Need some good ideas to cut the costs of the wedding. My bride decided she was going to do it all herself. But, I think it is eally stressing her out. I was going to try to help her. But 2 problems, 1. I have no clue where to start. 2. I have no clue how to make a wedding cheap yet still look nice. I would really rather just hire a planner and give her a break but she says they are too expensive when she can do it herself. Any ideas...... I need a coach! Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I'm pretty close to this guy at work, he's married and has kids. Somehow he gets things out of me that I don't normally tell anyone. Recently we were talking about birth control, I'm not even sure how it came up... and I told him I wasn't on it for a while and somehow he got out of me that I had an abortion with my husband... who was then my boyfriend. I'm so upset with myself for having told him that. It's none of his dam business and he shouldn't be trying to pull out info on me that's private. I also should learn when the topic of conversation is leading in a way that makes me feel uncomfortable that I should just stay quiet. Can anyone lend me some advice on how to handle myself when it comes to telling people things they shouldn't know. It's such a personal things and I shared it with someone whom I shouldn't have.

I am about to go crazy. I have never in my life felt so helpless. My brother has OCD. He's smart, very smart, but he got kicked out of college because he simply could not do the work. He didn't go to class, he never studied because he couldn't because of OCD, he never did his homework. He was there on a full scholarship. Now he's here with my mom and I. My dad works abroad.

We don't know what to do. My mom started crying today because she simply does not know what to do. He stays up all night and sleeps all day. He sits in the bathroom for hours at a time. literally hours, he was in there for four or five hours once. How long are you gonna bang on the door for? I want to help him, my mom wants to help him, my dad wants to help, everyone wants to help him obviously, we can't stand seeing him like this but what do we do? There're limits to compulsion. He sits down in one place and you can't get him to get up. I've never tried it before but I tried force today, it doesn't work.

well this really nice guy he told me he liked me (me and him are friends) and he asked me out but i turned him down becuase im scared to start dating so i turned him down and now a month has passed and i dont think he likes me anymore and it makes me sad because just when i started liking him he stopped liking me (he acts different thats how i know) and now i want him to like me again but i wonder if you guys think i should move on and let us just be friends? and if you guys think i should get him back then what do i do ?

etc. I think the people who are asking these kinds of questions just don't understand that all you have to do is to be yourself. Being a guy I can say that guys don't look for anything particular in girls, it's kind of a weird feeling like when you're in love you are so totally absorbed into someone else you don't think about what exactly you like about them. Hmmm...hope that made sense. Anyway, I'm just really annoyed by people asking what the other sex thinks of them and what characteristics are desired by the opposite sex. It's just not that simple you know! Does anyone else feel likewise?

I'm not exactly sure what my girlfriend is feeling these days. I have my days where I feel like she does care, and days where she doesn't. Do you think teens/preteens should be made fun of or not treated the same because they dont wear a certain brand of clothing? Well in my school thats what happens. I've been seeing this guy for 2 months and he treats me real nice and takes me out, buys me gifts, etc. We have sex and he doesn't refer to me as his girlfriend and says we're friends.
