Have spent enough time in the local Yahoo romance chat rooms to know that most people who spend much time in there either make their money from sex or have serious mental problems. Not a good environment to meet decent, nice people. Bars & clubs, same deal. Library (best place to meet nerds, right?) people don't even make eye contact. Coffee shops, same. Book stores, same. Outdoor meetings or get-togethers (at parks or in city centers), mostly drug-abusing freaks. Volunteer opportunities are an idea, but aren't the majority of volunteers retired?? How to find the 23-35 yr old age group, in a non-threatening, safe social environment? Tried church singles groups, mostly older or undesirable people there too. Tried support groups, mostly people who focus too much on their problems and who like to dump their problems on other people. Tried saying hi to neighbors, if they even say hi back they say it in a way that makes it clear they don't want to talk. Any new ideas??

There is this guy at work that I thought was cute. When I first saw him, I couldn't help but stare at him. It wasn't a creepy stare, OK, but a long gaze. Anyway, I don't know how it came off, but I did feel embarrased by it so I started to ignore him thereafter. Everytime we passed by the hall, I acted as though he wasn't there. It's strange though despite the fact I ignore him, he seems to act nervous around me. He consciously avoids eye contact with me when I pass by him. People have told me I'm cute and pretty, and that it can be intimidating towards some guys. Is he just trying to tell me he's not interested? Or he is just shy? I haven't actually talked to the guy and can't think of a reasonable way to approach him. I wish I could read minds.....

Have you, or do you know someone that may formed a very close bond with somone else that was already in relationship (not a marriage) where "you" (generally speaking) and the person already in the relationship have so much in common, and natural chemistry, and yall end up sleeping together and that person leaves their mate to be with you?

Do you know of any "happily ever after" endings to that kind of situation?

I know someone who is in this situatuion where the guy left his lady for her, and they ended up married in like 6 months to a year. According to them, they felt they were "soul mates".
IMO it seems rare that a situation like that could work out so well for people.

What are your views on it?

there is this guy that i went out with for 2 days, then he broke up with me a couple weeks ago and then last night we hung out and he kept flirting, holding my hand and saying he thinks im hot and that he likes me. i was thinking he was gonna ask me out again but he ended up leaving w/out saying bye. knowing him he is gonna ask me out sometime with a week, i would love to go out with him. hes nice, and we are both freshmen.

So there is this one girl that i like....more like love.....ive liked her more than any other girl in my life. She means the world to me.

So me and this girl are really good friends...and we were supposed to hang out his weekend, and she couldnt because she was grounded....i was devastated bcuz i anticipated seeing her for two weeks now....i desperately pleaded her to convince her parents to let her come over for awhile.....

later today i heard from a close friend of mine that she and her friend were hanging out and drinking.....first of all i was sad that she wouldnt hang out with me but her friend instead....second of all, one of the reasons i like this girl so much was because, she didnt drink or do anything illegal to have fun, she was her own person.....now i am let down and disappointed that she did that.....i am not sure what i can do now except give up...and die.

please talk to me b4 i make my decision.

If you got into a relationship w/ a man who told you that his work would requires him to be away from home for 2 weeks at a time , you bide through 2 weeks isnt all that long , then suddenly he chooses to work a month straight at a time. Would you be angry ? When you were promised only 2 weeks at a time.

This isnt a just bf , it a S/o w/ whom you are having a child with.

because thats what he likes, i get so bored of it and we never go where i want to go. I want to go to clubs to listen to hip hop,freestyle latin beats, oldschool, r&b but i know he is totally not into that. one time we went to this club where one room was playing hip hop and the other techno and i went to the hip hop room and he said that the music was uneducated music and he pulled me away from it. What kind of girls do men REALLY fall in love with? Ok Im a Leo. I generally have a vivrant, magnetic personality. I flirt, I smile. I get attention. I always look good. Men love me... at first. I dont have the problem getting the man, but KEEPING him???

I have dated different men who always say Im such fun and we have strong chemistry, then after a while, one of us feel different and we just drift apart. No sex involved (exceptions for the guy I reallly liked)

So I decided I would try the no strings attached sex. You know I wont get any kind of romantic feelings for this guy because we both know that its just sex. No love lost if he never calls me again. I've never had one of those so why not give it a go? I even encouraged him to go out with other women sometimes, because I reallly felt that it is only a sex thing.

Well someway or another I start to feel a little neglected, like he's cutting the conversation short probably to talk to another woman.

He claims to be on disability, yet he tells my son that he operates an auto repair shop out of his home garage. He's always been like that - getting paid under the table and/or in beer! My question is this: Can you collect child support from someone on disability? Oh, and when doing a google search on his wife's name, I saw that she was involved in an accidental shooting at work a few years ago. I'm thinking she probably received a settlement.
