Family & Relationships - 4 September 2006

My husband is not interested in our home at all. We have lots of things that need to be fixed (painting, structural damage repaired, and just daily cleaning) I feel I am the only one on OUR team- and because of this, I feel alot of bitterness towards him. We have been through marriage counseling but it really did not seem to help any matters. I need some serious feedback from you ladies that have this same problem.

My wedding is in April and I am wondering who is actually supposed to throw the shower. My mom doesn'y feel like its "her job" and my best friend who is my maid of honor is not very reliable. I was always under the impression that the family did usually have one and sometimes the bridal party either helped or planned another. I'm not trying to sound like a brat I'm just curious because at this point i'm not sure i will get one at all.

Yea, he is self employed and is really good at hiding his money. He also goes on vacation for 2 weeks at a time. He gives up parenting time all of the time, doesn't pay child support and now I am taking my kids to see a Psychologist because he is abusing them! The abuse isn't substantial enough to cause any real bruises but my kids soil their pants at school and at night. My son (6) has horrible 1 hour violent tantrums when it is time to go to Dads. My own son beats me up! IS there a way to take visitaion away without hiring an attorney? Social Services is really tuff, they don't do anything! Any suggestions?

I work extremely hard at my job and provide a good living for my wife and my child. However, in doing this, there are times when I have to put in a 12-14 hour day for a week or two at a time. Of course, my wife is not happy with it. I end up working an average of 50 hours a week year-round and sometimes it is closer to 60-65.

I think I am doing what is best for the family. Am I unreasonable? Honest advice is appreciated.

So I have been hanging out with this girl for the last month or so, and I thought that she was feeling the same way that I was. We hung out a few times, went to the fair, etc. At the bar I would always catch her looking at me, and if I was dancing or talking with another girl, she would always be right there after I was done to get my attention. Finally, I asked her out, and I got this response. "I am really not looking to date anybody right now, since I just got done with college I am wanting to jsut relax and have fun. I would like to get to know the real you without the games and acting different. Thanks for telling me how you feel and I respect that. The person that you are really impresses me." So, my question is did I read her signs wrong, was it the fact that I was hammered when I asked her, do I still have a shot? My plan is too give her some space, and give her a little attention, but not a signifigant amount.
