I am a freshman at a new high school. I have known this guy for a very long time...and were starting to take it to the next level but he is a senior in my high school. Is that odd to date with such an age gap?

Less an age gap but more of a status gap. Why does a senior want to date a freshman?

It's not odd, but it isn't right. A senior is actually much older than a freshman. There is a huge maturity and power difference. The status for the freshman girl would be pretty cool, but it's a bad mix.

yea its very wierd. That would never in a million years happen in my school. I am a senior this year, and its not so much the age gap, its the fact that your a freshman, hes an upperclassman, his reputation would go down the toilet for dating you. I wouldn't date him, friends is good, but dating... you might get a good reputation for you but he is more mature, possibly a perv, and might want things that your not really willing to give right now. Think it through before you do it.

It very much depends on your feelings, think about it, if someone is 25 dating a 29 year old it is not bed, but for now your relationship will have to tolerate a sociaal stigma that is attached to a relationship like yours. And of course if you two decide to get sexual he may have a huge legal problem. but that law is a good one because he will know that there are legal consequences if he makes engage in sexual activities, and there are even consequences if you want it to.

OK this is only what i think if you really like him and he feels the same way then it shouldn't matter . don't worry what people may think because its no of their business and if you let that get in your way you might regret not dating him. trust me i have been there i was 15 and he was 19yrs about to be 20 we stayed together for three and half years and still friends
