if true love is suppose to be unconditional and from the heart why is it some people pay more of a focus on the outer beauity than the inner beauity and why do some think a realtionship will run it's self when it takes 2 people to keep the relationship thriving

I'm 47, haven't dated in a long time (got burned bad years ago), I'm working on my weight but don't feel very comfortable at the moment with it. But if I wait until I lose what I want, I'll be 90! I'm a very spontaneous person. I love to do all sorts of things. I'm fairly calm and patient - a good listener - and would love to find a strong relationship that would be nourishing and compassionate. But I have no idea where to start. I've done speed dating, singles parties, online services - nothing really worked for me. I think men on the dating services are looking for younger, skinny, prettier woman anyway, so I haven't had much luck with those.

Would it down right out be WEIRD to wear a wedding dress (already picked one out that is kinda extreme), get nails and hair done, etc... to get married at J.O.P. I do not want a big wedding because I want to save money for HONEYMOON.

My Daughters Mother is from CA. We met in Chicago (My Hometown) while she was attending college. Our relationship was going sour but we decided to stick it out for the childs sake. Today she is Going to CA to visit her family, and attend her younger brothers Graduation, They havent seen the baby. They are only supposed to be gone a week. As Im kissing my daughter, i say Ill see you on the 11th (a week before my 1st fathers day) and she says well im not comming back that soon. She claims that she needs to get herself together and all this other BS. But I know she;s not comming back. Her plan was to trap me into making me a father and a husband. I can handle the parent part dispite the fact that I wasnt ready to be aparent at 22, but the married life aint for me right now. Her plan backfired and now she is trying to get me back. What can I do as a single parent?

I met someone roughly in the 90's and we kept in contact throughout the years. We ended up being best friends. He expressed his feelings towards me a few yrs back in lettersabouut loving me and that he didnt want to ruin our friendship. I was married & now he is. Too make a long story short. I was thinking about him alot a few weeks ago. I managed to locate him and when I did I also heard he was searching for me too. He had to come to NY by coincident for military duty for fleet week. He expressed his feelings & I expressed mine. He said he wish I didnt get married & that the only reason he got married was because the woman was pregnant and he couldn;t have me. I am still legally married but not together. Anyway, we cross boundaries and made love. Almost everyday for two weeks. He kept mentioning to me that we have a bond. When I asked him to explain he stated that he always compared other women to me but they couldn't match up to me. We miss each other so much. He calls me all the tim

She is still at school, finishing next year in July. She is a Catholic and Iam a protestant, though I pray from a pentecostal church. She is willing to convert to Protestant, but doesnot like my continuing fellowshiping in Pentecostals. She argues that I should go back to my original religion, to which she is willing to convert. How should I handle this. People out there, advise me.

My girlfriend was divorced two years ago and it seemed as if she had "moved on" after all the financial and other stress of divorce. She has three children from the marriage, who live with her almost full-time but they've all handled things brilliantly. She was together with her husband for about 14 years.

She met her ex-h's new girlfriend for the first time over the weekend when we picked up their children from a weekend at their Dad's. They seemed to get on really well together, and the g/f gets on really well with her kids.

He's subsequently told her that he and his g/f are engaged and plan to get married next summer.

She's been surprisingly upset by this, but has really been struggling to identify what it is that is upsetting her.

I'm not sure how to act around her at the moment, and feeling uncomfortable about this. I'm not sure if this is a sign for her that her marriage is totally ended, or if she feels that he's easily able to marry again and it isn't so easy for her.

I leave countless messages for her at work, at home, on her cell phone, you name it. Before she got engaged, she would find time almost every day to call me and talk. Now that she is engaged I don't seem to matter to her. On top of that, she asked me to be in her wedding party and I am seriously thinking not to do it. Am I wrong to feel hurt by her behavior lately?
